Ah, okay, that makes sense.
Oh, I would not do that. I would get a sunburn. Isn’t Sweden full of pale people? Wouldn’t they also sunburn? I will stick to getting a cabin the non-hipster American way, with lots of cozy blankets and books and a roof that you can’t see through.
Also, the person or business you would be renting the actual cabin from would probably be an experienced landlord, knowledgeable about septic tanks and generators and all the other things you need to live comfortably, and need even more in a remote area with spotty cell coverage.
This does not surprise me.
Renting a cabin can be loads of fun, but the rebranding effort is a bit laughable.
Also, if you have time or money or even the ability to help raise someone’s profile, check out some of the candidates who are running for Congress next year. There are a lot of competitive races. See if your district is one of them, and if not, consider “adopting” a candidate. There are a lot of really cool people who…
Victimizing. Gaslighting. Gross.
I don’t actually know what the nature of their relationship is. I think it’s clearly more than a financial necessity. They socialize and coordinate together far more than most couples do when their children are long grown, and even if Andrew’s on a tight leash, I’m sure they could have found another place for her to…
As much as the Trump Country pieces make me want to throw things, they have taught me something. I suspect it’s not the insight the writers were hoping for, however. Mostly, it’s taught me that if someone visits a community for a few days and goes looking for a particular angle, they’re going to find someone who will…
I was getting out my knives with the first sentence, and then I read the second one. I agree entirely with this, and thank you for posting it.
I didn’t think of that angle. Why did they pick goats? Cats seem like the natural yoga fit. They don’t typically shit everywhere, a lot of them are pretty relaxed, and their weirdo sleeping positions might be good inspiration.
No, but if other people want to, that’s cool. Though I would advise the woman not to use “unexpected” in conjunction with “airport.” People might like unexpected goats, but otherwise, they like predictable airports.
I think we might have disconnected a bit. I might not have been clear in my last post. I think texting is better for plans, period. I was picturing a compromise where they made last minute plans by text, and other plans in person or at some other not during the work day way. I mean, if you’re dating and you’re halfway…
Partial overlap? I have a smart phone and use it to tweet and look at websites all the time, have sent a text message as recently as this morning, but don’t much like texting and try to arrange to minimize it. I did get married in a courthouse.
I might call it their problem. It’s at least a little bit of his problem if the way he’s been communicating with his girlfriend isn’t having the intended effect. It’s definitely something they share, though.
I don’t think that people who dislike texting focus so much on the making plans side of it. I’m not a huge fan, and I think it’s pretty useful for that. Hell, I think it’s a good choice even when not at work, because then there’s a record of the place and time.
Yeah, no quarrel there, I think he meant well. It’s just a bit of a faux pas.
Her father’s coming to the wedding, so even if she doesn’t see him as close family, it makes it awkward to have it said publicly where he can read it. Also, while I can believe that she sees her family as being mostly her mother and her, I don’t buy that she’s looking for the royals to fill in those gaps rather than…
Especially if we’re talking about groups rather than individuals! Makes it so much easier to accommodate dietary preferences, people who come early, people who plan on drinking their dinner and don’t have room left to eat. None of the LW’s group has voiced a preference now, but that doesn’t always prevent a passive…
