Have you tried Mented?
Have you tried Mented?
Once again, we have to be made into monsters to justify treating us inhumanely.
As someone who grew up in LA, it’s well known not to expect Black men there to date Black women because their preferences are obvious. My elementary school had zero neighborhood students w/ 2 black parents. Us kids w/ 2 black parents were from other neigbhorhoods.
Thank you so much! It’s so important for people who look like you to speak up about these issues.
My mother explained these things to me as a child. I don’t understand why adults don’t understand the business side of marriage - transference of wealth and legacy-building. Sometimes I wonder what our community would look like if we weren’t in such a rush to give our money away once we have some.
I honestly think she should!
She should also find her equivalents, children of leaders in politics and business who could lose big $ or support if photos like that emerged of their kid. I know of 2 white ppl who would have married Indian people if not for the Indian person’s family being in big biz or politics in India. Y’know, like how some…
Mark, are you black? Take up your issue with “most” women. Unlike “most” women, African-American women, collectively speaking, are so focused on dating and marrying African-American men despite outnumbering them by about 2 million, that they will remain unmarried for life, accept a no-good man, and/or turn down…
I am a black woman who knows straight black women who did not date much in high school or college b/c they were only focused on their black classmates.
It’s pretty common in predominantly white, middle-class and wealthier schools and other social environments for black boys and young men to only date non-black girls or light-skinned black girls. The fact that the Obama girls are kissing, instead of being ignored by male classmates for years, is an improvement.
Also, the not-so-subtle statement that intracultural relationships are a prison and dating out is freedom?! Liberation is far broader than that.
Eh, as a black person I am square as an admittedly imperfect protection mechanism.
Eartha Kitt: Oh yes, that caused the resentment. I was married to Bill McDonald in 1960. People would say ‘Why didn’t you marry a Black man?’ I would reply “because the white girls had them!” The men I wanted to be with, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, dated predominatly white women. I’m talking about the 50s.…
Obvious projection is obvious.
Is that the case? What has Peele done to help the Black community?
Rich men are in enough demand that they have many choices, especially if looks are the main factor. If they want a female peer, things change. Where is this place where it’s not special to be a rich black man? Rich men are rare worldwide, which is why they’re in high demand.
It’s pretty easy for a rich man to find a beautiful woman to marry. I have difficulty believing that only one woman would be willing to give a rich man a chance. That’s not how it works.
You realize sometimes 2 depressed people are friends, right? And one person can’t take on another’s demons when they’re struggling so much with their own?
Just because there are more mixed marriages doesn’t mean that all groups marry out at the same rates.
Not so. Latin America has had people mixing for centuries, and people there still span the human rainbow.
