I like that the cast is large enough now that they can focus on a different set of secondary characters (or formerly tertiary). It seems bad to have a whole episode without Darryl, Heather and Valencia, in favor of Tim, George and Maya, but it absolutely worked, and thank God they realized Michael McMillian is an

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is the best show on television, Rachel Bloom needs to win more awards, and her last song’s performance was so powerful it was scary.

I also hope Valencia pursues a legal suit against Josh. Because more Valencia is good, and I like them having a legal case as a b-plot or ongoing background thing.

Gee, Josh, it’s almost like Rebecca is crazy AND you fucked up big-time and are an asshole. It’s almost like those things aren’t mutually exclusive, Josh!

I was kind of “meh” about it, but that’s how I was with “I’m Just a Girl in Love” at the beginning of last season, and by the end was totally making the “BLAM!” face along with Rebecca.

“I get to be the tiger!”

I think this is where I’m leaning right now. This is a great subject for the show to cover, but it would have been served better by a full 3-minute video rather than a 30 second title theme.

Rachel Bloom proves that there’s no reason a serious feminist can’t also enjoy being naughty, in ways that probably appeal greatly to most 16yo boys and to, uh, certain much older guys as well. This is the fifth song in CXG, I think, where Rebecca does a striptease or writhes around in a catsuit or lingerie. (I know

Totally agreed. I love that even when she’s trying to warp herself into a “bad girl” to make this whole Nathaniel 50 Shades revenge fantasy life work, Rebecca still has that foundation of blunt stubbornness in her (and I mean that in a good way) that won’t let dumb little patriarchal things like that slip by.

A few tiny details that made this episode even greater and clearly showed that the influence of having female writers/show runners:

I wouldn’t be shocked if Valencia wants revenge herself, and without Rebecca pushing it, she takes over.

Bloom said the ‘choke’ line was actually a *substitute* for another line that didn’t get past the censors.

Perhaps Weinstein thinks that the public will be more willing to believe that a black woman is lying than it will believe the numerous white women who have accused him are lying?

In Seinfeld Jerry never realized that Elaine had never orgasmed all the time they dated.

“Yet, as Paula says, he’s also never been told”.

That’s basically what Paula said at the end. If she hasn’t spoken up in eleven years they’ve got some serious communication issues to address. Which once again crushs poor Tim.

“Then the Grinch had an idea...”

I loved his drawing.

I loved Michael’s subtly demonic smile after Chidi says “When it comes to human ethics, I just know more than you”.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an actor portray unmitigated anxiety quite as well as William Jackson Harper
