This got on my tits too. There is nothing “naturally female”about wearing makeup, scarves, nighties. Some womend do some don’t. It is not necessary to be in the club. I can’t see a single legit reason why men and women should not have equal access to these items. Or frankly none at all. No one needs makeup to live.

And don’t forget the right to have female necessities like “scarves” and “necklaces”. Which I find absolutely baffling. I also don’t have tins of sympathy for her, but I think medical care needs to be determined by her medical team, as well as being housed in an appropriate facility. Necklace privileges are fucking

I also thought it was kind of sexist. You don’t need to be a woman to wear these things. When I think female I’m thinking bras, menstrual pads and tampons. The rest is just “human-oriented” stuff or so to speak.

Except pregnant inmates. They still don’t get adequate treatement and pregnancy without proper healthcare can be damn deadly.

Hm. I am liberal and I fully support trans acceptance, but when someone is a convicted murderer (and not convicted in the sense of a kangaroo court) I gusss I don’t really have much empathy for their mental health. If she’s tried to kill herself, I can really only shrug my shoulders there. She willingly took another

I do not think this is a victory for trans people who have been denied care at all. This means nothing for all the non-criminal trans people who cannot afford or are otherwise unable to get what is indeed a necessary surgery.

Maybe the republican plan for repealing Obamacare is to jail everyone?

My first thought was considering how expensive this is and how much there’s a lack of access to it for transgender civilians, was that I wonder if people might be desperate enough to get themselves behind bars just to access this care. A lot of trans people might never have the resources to get surgery otherwise.

I work in the medical field, and inmates have better health coverage than the VAST majority of Americans. It’s really upsetting.

I read that as a list of “things that make it easier for your fellow-inmates to strangle you”. Really, wtf?

me, too.

I have no problem with the medically necessary surgery being performed, but necklaces? I am kind of surprised that women are allowed to wear necklaces in prison at all. Can anyone shed any light on that kind of thing? How much jewelry are prisoners generally allowed, both male and female? I can understand a scarf to

I know this is not the correct place, but update on Last Night’s Apartment Cat. Apparently, the cat came with my apartment. The neighbor I thought it belonged to informed me that the people who lived in the unit before me left cat behind and she’s been feeding it. Sooooo. I have a new cat that I can’t afford right now

The twist tie is concerning. You probably should call poison control or go to the ER. They might want to do x-rays.

Full disclosure, I’m actually quite concerned about the wire tie swallowing.

He looks like he’s trying very hard to understand what’s happening but not quite getting there.

This does not sound like a magic trick.

The stunt, known as the “bullet catch”, debuted in 2010 and consist of Blaine firing a rifle at his own head and catching the bullet in a metal cup inside his mouth.
