Not true. There was never anything that said Gandalf saved Gwaihir. Gandalf had saved The Lord of the Eagles at one point, but there's a couple things pointing to a different eagle.

There were still ways to kill them. Poisons, counters, and petrify, for example. While it was annoying at times, it gives you more unique situations, instead of steamrolling through everything.

I prefer FFTA more than FFT and FFTA2. Face it, while it had a great story, FFT had a lot of balance issues.

Not necessarily. Companies greatly influence laws. Giving in like this does give, for example, Fox News more power, who in turn can influence the government. It less of a worry than if it was the government directly, but it's still an issue, imo.
