It’s probably a fairly safe bet not to trust any loans advertised on social media. They may not all be sleazy, but the odds are likely not in their favor.

Yeah, I had to stifle a full blown LOL when I read that. That being said, we used to give our dog those types of bones, but she invariably would puke like a college freshman within an hour, so we stopped getting them.
I can’t help seeing this while reading about the Alabama churchgoers supporting Roy Moore...
Take comfort in the knowledge that since Kimmel started speaking out politically, his ratings have climbed steadily, and according to the most recent rating trend reports, Kimmel is now on target to bump Fallon out of second place by about February (Colbert will, of course, retain first place in the late night…
So Jimmy Kimmel sent an employee down here to Theodore for Roy Moore’s fundraising thing last night. He was kicked out after heckling Moore, which I thought was hilarious, but the locals are piiiiisssed. They’re like “He disrespected a CHURCH! This is the worst thing to ever happen, ever!” The irony of their standing…
My mother worked in big law firms starting in the 70s, and through the 80s... she has horror stories. And yes, the expectation was that you wouldn’t complain and not rock the boat.
Generational note.
Funny how so many apologists keep parroting on about “why didn’t these women say anything sooner?”, and apart from the fact that there are a million valid reasons that most victims don’t come forward at the time, there’s also the fact that actually a lot of them did and were utterly ignored because no one gave a shit…
General rule: if something you do can be compared fairly to something Ted Bundy did, stop doing that thing.
Alternately, send them out into the woods and demand a wood cutter bring back their hearts.
Now if only San Francisco will follow suit...
Yup. My parents used to get all the kids clam digging permits every year knowing for damn sure we weren’t digging up any clams.
Man, I’m in a similar boat rn. I’ve got a 17-year old daughter who lives with me part-time, I moved my girlfriend in when she lost her job in February—and I’m struggling with her lack of parenting for her 12- and 14-year old boys.
Also, go to lots of fancy balls and never bring them along.
The clinical studies you mention are strictly overseen by Ethics Committees, require very specific consent documents, and only provide small reimbursement amounts to cover patient expenses (ie $20 per visit for parking/transit, etc).
Bitcoin isn’t real?
That aspect bothers me, too. Especially since specialist visits are more expensive to the patient. I work for a rheumatologist, and knowing how much treatment can cost even with insurance, I can’t imagine patients would turn down discounted or free care if they had a particularly rare or interesting condition that…
I’m bothered that people get free services if they allow treatment of their medical conditions to be used on social media. That’s at LEAST bordering on coercion for people who desperately want and need treatment but couldn’t otherwise afford it.
You’re supposed to pack it so it can withstand that handling. Being thrown on the belt is about the same as when the truck hits a bump in the road.
I once shipped a package at the post office and the postal worker asked me if there was anything fragile inside and I asked him point blank would it make a difference in how he handled the package if I said yes or I had marked it “fragile” and he honestly answered, “no”.
