I snorted when I read this. I have friends who will now hear “you are being agressively British” quite often.

You too?! My mom carted me and my sister around in a ‘80 mustang hatchback until we were in our teens. My sister came home from the hospital in that car. Mom even figured out how to get two bikes and two kids in there (to be fair, child seat laws were way more lax back then, but still).

Yes. The first episode is all set up, so it’s not the best ep. It’s a little slow compared to everything else. Try at least episode two, I’d say even three to see if you really like it.

Maybe I just had bad luck, but when I showed up I ended up being one of two or three new people and everyone else already had established as a “group.” They didn’t exclude me at all, they were very nice, but I felt very much on the outside looking in. I have been thinking the same thing!

They are very likely booking their vacation days around all the long weekends, thus taking full advantage of all the extra “free” days. All those extra little days really add up, turning using just using a few days worth of vacation days into a week-long one. And they planned all this, way in advance.

Yup, especially given that I’m not going to have kids at this point, if I don’t have everything squared perfectly by myself I won’t have anyone looking out for me later. I really am terrified I’ll end up stuck in some shitty state hospital because I outlive my resources.

Yeah, I get the feeling. My roommate was concerned, but he was much more on the fence of “I’m sure she’s fine.” Where I was at “she probably is, BUT WHAT IF SHE’S NOT?” It really just doesn’t occur to him to go that direction in his head.
