Some of my gay friends have had that happen, unfortunately, so it isn’t unheard of.

To be fair, and this isn’t regarding sexual assault specifically, but the number of guys who explain away beating up a guy in a bar with “he was asking for it” and no other justification pretty much outnumbers any other reason I’ve ever heard.

It also sounds a lot like he’s made these kinds of justifications before, quite probably about his own behavior. I said it further upthread but I’ll say it here too, this sounds a lot like “the [gentleman] doth protest too much.”

Honestly, I don’t want to jump to conclusions, and I am not actually accusing this person of anything, but the way his train of though went sounds a WHOLE LOT like he’s made the same justifications about his own behavior at some point.

That’s almost always the issue with these things. I totally feel you! I have a soda stream and every once and a while the pressure builds up (or something, I haven’t figured out exactly why) and when you go to release the bottle the whole top pops off and makes a huge BANG! It is scary as shit!

I know quite a few bass players and NONE of them make that face EVER. If anything bass players are usually the stoic, no expression ones.

Right, but if someone TELLS you it’s MDMA, that’s all you have to go on, so even if you tell, say an EMT “he only took MDMA” they need to assume there is a possibility it wasn’t as pure as they thought. There is no regulation to guarantee it is what they say it is.

You are 100% correct in all of this, at the same time, I think it can still be counted with “hard drugs” in these situations simply because of all the mitigating factors you talked about.

It absolutely DOES have a medical use. It was developed for treating PTSD and other traumatic psychological issues and studies have shown it to be extremely effective. It was outlawed for a bunch of different reasons, mostly political, but it a clinical setting it is a very useful therapeutic drug.

It is an illegal, psychotropic substance. If you get it from an untrustworthy source it can be cut with speed or pretty much anything else (just because they SAY it’s pure doesn’t always mean it is).
