Call me callous, but given that I have to drive on Perth roads I am somewhat comforted that these two men won't ever be found driving on them again.
Like every generation of handhelds, Nintendo's hardware will sell en-mass to the masses, whilst everyone else (e.g. Sony) will sell to those who want a premium handheld and are willing to pay for it.
It's impossible to crush any Nintendo handheld. Nintendo has Pokemon and a consistently lower price point - game over everyone else.
Nintendo has always manged to survive and reach different audiences. In the process though, what they've failed to do is keep their earlier adopters (joined for the SNES).
