A large part of happened is most consoles and their games are either American or Japanese in origin. Europeans would've been happy to stick with computers where this was less of an issue.

Let's see the hardcore otaku experience, full Japanese text as an option more often. Japanese voice is slowly becoming cliche to provide by now.

Because real wrestling is so boring, *tennis* on TV boring for crying out loud. Yawwwn! Zzzzz.... Try watching the Olympics instead of professional wrestling next time. You'll be back!

I don't think you'd want to, with their recent track record. Style Savvy is about as far removed from what made them famous as it gets.

I don't blame them. Retail price for games in small countries is not fair, and shouldn't be treated as such. I sure wouldn't be buying many new releases from Japan if I were in Japan.

Huh? Lots of games have touch control. Galactic Taz Ball...

Almost certainly just an unauthorized unlicensed Bluray clone. Much like how Nintendo could not legally market Gamecube and Wii discs, drives, advertisements, packaging, or otherwise with the copyrighted DVD logo image.

Yawn. Post-release content not on PC. Skies are blue today.

Yeah early Game Boy Advance soundtracks can be pretty awful too.

The problem with JRPGs is they're the very OPPOSITE of their core western criticism. They keep trying to over and over re-invent ideas that were never broken. Experimenting with weird game mechanics and terminology. Am I really supposed to enjoy Hyperdimension Neptunia healing system, or care about the anime logic

Could be. Wii in Korea decided to use a new region and other changes, breaking default compatibility with Gamecube games (GC had no Korea specific code).

It's different. That type of attractive girl descends from older styles beloved by fans. Think more like Ah My Goddess or Urusei Yatsura. Before the moe trash seen today was clearly established.

I lean toward believing SK on this one. UE3 games aren't exactly known for stellar framerates, if nothing else.

I thought the problem is things like this tend to steal copyrighted code, wasn't a little data from retail games needed to make DSi flash carts work?

@Lackshmana: Yes, but the one with Super Mario World was US/PAL only. Never released in Japan.

I may not be in a PAL region, but their long disinterest or inability (whichever it is) to support those gaming pals doesn't reflect well on them. Would starting a proper EU division have been that difficult?

Used sales can't be quite stopped, but DRM or other restrictions may certainly make their value and desirability plummet hard.

@atomicstrawberry: What about the PS1, PS2, and DVD movie region locks? Couldn't a modchip get rid of those from PS3?

Rakuten? Is that? Maybe my quirky Japanese product quota needs to be filled.
