Your argument that sex work bypasses consent and that it is “paid rape” is one that has been used by plenty of men who actually do rape sex workers and by cops who refuse to take those sex workers statements, prosecutors who refuse to bring the case, and judges who deem the sexual assault of a sex worker to be “theft

...Actually, I only spoke of his behavior. I said absolutely nothing about the women he dates, other than the single attribute they all certainly share is being young and physically attractive, because I’m not criticizing the women that choose to date him. You chose to imply that based on absolutely nothing I wrote.

Unequivocally no. Prostitution is a bypass to consent. It’s essentially paid rape. I know there will be an army of brainwashed third wavers here trumpeting how “sex positive” they are, but no man who pays for sex respects women at all, let alone is a feminist. Kudos to France for passing the Swedish model into law,

“I thought they were now “The Wolf Pack” and they smirk and howl at each other from across the room at parties when they see an attractive woman.”

Adding - it speaks to his emotional immaturity if he can’t seem to have a relationship with an equal.

Lots of ‘why do you care’ replies. I can’t believe this requires explaining (something tells me it really doesn’t-sweet trolling, dudes!). Well, because it’s just another example of a man treating a woman as nothing more than an object. Clearly, youth and beauty are his first (and possibly only) priority. And it’s

Because some of us find it fairly disgusting that a grown ass adult would date what amounts to the unformed, uninformed, naive, and nubile. Having what amounts to a completely one-sided power dynamic relationship.

Then amounts of perfume/cologne people put on are much more offensive to me than some people’s personal body smell. I encounter over perfumers way more and am disgusted by how often I can still smell the people’s perfumed crap long after they’ve left the room, 30 feet away, etc.

You made the point of this article. It’s all about societal norms, not health.

No way in hell she’s a size 6-8 but whatever....unless she’s exclusively buying clothes at the gap...then sure I buy it

I was going to say. NOT body shaming because honestly she looks great to me, but I do not think Amy is a size 6 or even an 8 anywhere but Old Navy.

Yeah, she is full of hot shit if she says she wears a 6-8. I’m the same shape and weight as her, maybe a couple inches shorter, and I wear a 10 on a good day.

I don’t know why Glamour thinks they have to put labels on any of these women.

I think there is totally a way to involve community everyday, but so many people are just so damn busy! I don’t know how to find it. We all have to work too much to barely afford a hovel, and our generation is no longer as religious, (I am not, and the city I chose to live in is also not as much among young folk)

I think they’re afraid they’ll just label their kid and load them with drugs. That fear is justified because I do know several people it has happened to. However, the nice thing about taking them when they’re young is you’re still able to have some say in the situation and find a therapist who connects with your kid.

The abbreviated commoditization of a human being falls well short of the slightly more elaborated commoditization of a human being.

Most MDs, myself included, would agree behind closed doors that chronic lyme, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome, as they are commonly diagnosed, are all different manifestations of depression.

Seriously. This cannot be said enough - some doctors do blame the patient if they don’t know. (And this applies to many things, not just Lyme). It makes me so angry - one dead relative and one almost dead- both from cancer that was not caught. In relative 1 it was “in his head” and relative 2 “it was a flu” (that

Some (not all) doctors ARE experts at blaming the patient if they don’t know what’s going on. They also can’t fathom a simple shift in perspective that maybe its not the depression causing the pain, that its pain causing the depression. They might injure their egos if they did.

This is giving me heart palpitations. Anytime doubt is cast upon any component of a Lyme diagnosis or misdiagnosis thrusts me back into one fucking camping weekend followed by three years of debilitating joint pain, hours-long back spasms, the inability to read, write or understand language (or even how to remember
