I think that's total BS, I think The Dark Knight is going to go down as one of the more remembered and celebrated mainstream movies of its era. Not saying it deserves it (though I do think it's a good film), but it's definitely very well produced, very well acted, and has enough iconic qualities that it's not going to

No, no Detroit listed in the filming locations.

The difference between contemporary nihilism (Nolan) and gothic darkness (Burton).

I agree with Batman Begins being my favorite. I would, however, argue that The Dark Knight definitely did have a strong character journey for Batman/Bruce.

I actually think Begins is the best Batman movie of them all. Not a popular opinion, especially with the canonization of The Dark Knight.

Well, to be fair, Batman Begins did have a unique, art-directed Gotham. The raised monorail towers, the Narrows, etc.
That was dropped for "it's Chicago" for Dark Knight and "it's Pittsburgh" for Rises.

Nah, I gotta go with Zimmer.

As horrifyingly awful as the Schumacher films are, you've got to give it to him, there's some pretty inspired, wacked-out production design in there (obviously inspired by the Burton films). The version of Gotham, with the bizarre super-raised roads (pretty much skyways) and concourses, the super-skyscrapers, the

How is this movie not called The Furious 7?

Victarion has always been Triple H (long hair bearded version) in my eyes.

Not many people consider Dark Empire anything close to good.

Oh yeah, I'd forgot about that.

I'm blown away by the KOTORII love here! I've never even played it, and KOTOR is in the running for one of my favorite games of all time. I just remember it getting middling reviews and thinking "oh that's too bad, the first one was amazing." Plus I didn't have much time for games around when that came out.
But seeing

Dark Forces was pretty incredible at the time. I remember as a kid finding out "so there's Doom, but WITH STAR WARS???!!!" being mind blowing.
The mods you could get for it (and I don't even remember how I got mods back in those days, I think I remember trading floppy disks with other computer-literate kids at school)

The original Jedi Knight game (Dark Forces 2) was the best because AWESOME LIVE ACTION CUT SCENES!

Dark Forces
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy

Yeah Jedi Academy was pretty great. It never seemed like it was a touchstone game the way the other was, probably because it was essentially an expansion to Jedi Outcast, developed in just a year with the same engine. But man, the Jedi fights in that one, the staff, the double sabers…

Why is fan casting always completely based on hair color.
"Emma Stone can't be Gwen Stacey! She's a readhead!"

Multiplayer for that game was amazing.

Yeah that's pretty cool. All the other pilots are flying around with a handful of TIE fighter icons on their ships, but Wedge has not one, but two freakin' DEATH STARS on there.
