so, that's war back then. Now? Jesus - humvee's, aircraft carriers, cargo planes, etc, etc, etc. Any carbon benefit from decreased use of resources is *far* outweighed by fossil fuel burning.

less energy than a broiler? uh - most broilers use gas. Perhaps true if you just measure joules, but electricity tends to be more expensive than gas, so my guess is that using the broiler is lighter on your wallet. I'm sure that comparing environmental impacts between the two would be difficult.

@joe.glass: getting a foot in the door is definitely the main issue. Once you're there with your skills and aptitudes, degrees don't make a damn bit of difference.

my uncle, back in the day, printed up some business cards with "Travel coordinator", or something like that, as his newfound position. He'd say he was checking out hotels for a conference they were having, and he would often get a room comped, or at least greatly discounted. I don't have the chutzpah to follow suit,

it used to be that you could send email from an apps account using any address from that domain you wanted, even without setting it up as an "email address you own". For example, if you had mydomain.com set up on google apps, you could send an email as randomuser@mydomain.com without ever having set that up as an

any suggestions for those of us with iOS sans camera?

@Ryan Goldstein: Yeah, I was hoping that DKIM could have an organization vouch for an email, regardless of the origin domain in the From field. Since google has authenticated SMTP, DKIM *could* have a couple headers. For example: "dkim header 1: google.com vouching for myuniv.edu", and "dkim header 2: private key

Any way for google to DKIM-vouch for messages sent via google smtp servers from a domain over which I have no control?

@NanorH: i'm using sipgate right now - it works fine. And yeah @mdearlove - perhaps you need a US cell number to get it going - i don't quite remember.

I've tried adding ipkall numbers to GV in the past, but i've always run into the annoying problem of their numbers already being associated with a GV account, and hence not being able to add the number to my own GV account.

Ok: I'm pretty techy and all, but I have to admit that I am completely in the dark about "net neutrality". Even a quick glance at wikipedia didn't help. It's surely a complex topic. Regardless, it'd be nice if LH did a short piece on it, trying to explain the basics.

@Gameboy70: gotcha. let's hope they just upscale windows phone 7. All the other "mobile" OS's of theirs I have experience with have completely blown. CE, Win Mobile, etc.

"as well as the x86 chip technology offered by Intel and Advanced Micro Devices Inc." Uh, huh? hasn't MS been providing OS's for this new-fangled "x86 chip technology" for freaking decades now?

the long swedish winter will make you do anything.

@djg1224: I just picked up a couple Jabra Stones (designated by Gizmodo as the least-stupid-looking-bluetooth-headset) on ebay for about $25 each. Seem to get decent reviews, though not perfect. Whatever - for me, anything that doesn't look totally idiotic but still does the job is a winner in my book. And it seems

@Famf: What about calorie-counting software for an iphone, or something like that? If its Wii Fit vs. nothing, then Wii Fit is great. If it's Wii Fit vs. getting outside, I always prefer to be out, but that's just preference.

@AD: Not a good idea to copy windows and programs back onto a drive in a different computer. Not gonna work.
