I think it’s that car styling has leaned into the creases and angles over the last decade. The Pontiac just looks over-inflated.
Even worse in Canada for gas costs. In BC, gas works out to ~$3.90/gal USD for regular, $4.40 for premium. Nearly double, what fun!
Depends on the type of off-roading - my hunting truck would be way to big for tight, technical trails, but for bombing way up FSRs to get into the boonies, it’s a dream.
