Is Apple entering the wood figurines industry? Have some common sense, will you?

@al_capwn: Soft kitty, warm kitty: The UI itself or the homescreen? The widgets, you can use or not, that's your choice. I might agree on the 3 buttons however, but I'll have to think or see more about how useful they are.

But the rest of the UI *is* as gorgeus.

@MayorBloomberg: Do iPhone apps fill the whole screen of iPad, or do they just show in 960x640 resolution?

@MayorBloomberg: If the resolutions scale 1:1, that's not a problem. Most Android developers don't measure their app dimensions in pixels(px), but in a unit of measure(dp I think) that expands as as the resolution increases. So the app will always expand to the whole screen.

@kyre: Yes, I also think that Xoom seems to show the direction in which these tables will go to become more useful, and eventually a replacement for laptops, in most cases.

@ddhboy: I'm pretty sure Google is coming with a new Android version at Google I/O. It might be the biggest one since Froyo. I think they've saved most of the features they've been working on since Froyo until next I/O. They probably want to keep it their main Android event of the year.

@iMattv4: Wow..and to think that some people are actually proud for paying as much for iOS apps instead of getting the majority of them for free with small ads at the bottom on Android..Unbelievable.

Too bad they'll never be able to do something like this once they go with WP7.

They must be considering Android tablets for that full encryption setting.

@Apotheosis: Yeah they'll probably set it about a week before the Xoom launch, once Motorola gives the official launch day at MWC.

@Giggity: Do you doubt that Apple wouldn't do this on purpose - making available less phones than predicted demand, just so everyone says they are sold out fast?

@Dribbler: That's like saying tablets will never work, 2 years ago. Clearly, things are a lot different now with the explosion of ARM devices and their fast improvements.

@Y2KGTP: Yes...for now. But they will gradually replace more powerful netboks/laptops, as they become more powerful themselves. Once they get powerful enough, and they have even Photoshop or whatever you need, what else will you be mising from a laptop? A keyboard? You can just attach that when you need it.

@ddhboy: I think so. And it's not simply because Android will have a 2 year head start (just like in smartphones). Windows 8 for x86 will probably still not be good enough for tablets, or at the very least, apps won't be optimized for touch.

@Hami83: If you haven't heard cheap Android phones from Asian manufacturers are starting to erode their market share fast for those, too.

@Jani Tarvainen: In a few years you'll be asking Intel? What's an Intel? Ohh..right. I remember using their chips in my old PC's back in the day.

@Weakskills: 97 trillion? That must be enough for the whole galaxy!

@PsychoSuperman: I don't think they even considered it. That former CEO guy was an idiot. Seriously, why put a lawyer to run your company? Did they actually expect some tech wisdom and vision from him?

I wouldn't say WP7 is a bigger joke than Meego, but it's certainly a joke, too. With WP7 they'd still be a 3rd choice for most people, and WP7 ecosystem will never get the media attention Android is getting - simply because Android is starting to be on more types of devices, so more news about Android, while WP7 will
