Watched it tonight. Delightful. Summer fun ahead. Kept it in the Q, deleted Last Ship and Tyrant. So far, so good.

That's the one. And no, none of it relates to vaccinations and sunscreen, but then neither do any of their arguments, which have more to do with my "negativity" than anything else. One of them called me a Sexual Intellectual. I suppose I am having too much fun kicking the puppies. Which is why I thought your stuff…
I've been there. Done that. It feels good. Good for you! But I'm sticking it out because, because, because - well, I've been here before too.
You too? I'm thinking, you're gonna wanna call somebody tomorrow maybe. It's like finishing a book because, well, because, well - because.
Delicious! The housebuddy and I were expecting Chandler to start offing spiders one by one, but no. And yeah, my first thought on the study destruction (I hate it when they destroy the studies) was "somebody's gonna have to clean that up."
No. Just whining a bit. I will watch it anyway. Good summer stuff. Just added Dominion to the Q too, even though I was writing it ahead of the dialog - oh, look, he's stashing stuff away to escape; oh, look, I bet he's the chosen one; oh, look, that baby-faced guy thinks he's going to marry her; oh, look, she's not…
Coming off of Mad Men, True Detective, and Fargo, I'm so spoiled for good writing I would almost give up a CGI woodcrab, or whatever those things were, to hire one. I'm not really dissing the writers they've got - I have the feeling that they are setting out to write exactly what they're writing. Kind of like a woman…
I agree with both of you. Never an interesting place to be, but nevertheless. I want a second season of both, even if they eff it up.
Sharing a piece of a piece I wrote some time ago, about something that really, really happened, less than an hour south of Bemidji, where my parents' had a retirement house on a little lake and where we always went for Christmas:
He would have to think long and hard about it … thousand one, thousand two, thous… sorry. There's no time. But he would regret it. You can tell by his regretful face. Hehe.
I'm always sort of happy to see Audrey re-enter hell, but then I'm not a very nice person. That hit-man had the brow-ridge of a … hitman. Good villain face there. I was driving the roombuddy nuts writing the dialog out loud before the characters said anything, especially in those "Jack mulls over his hard choices by…
I read Stoker's Dracula when I was 13 - and that was 58 years ago! I had never heard of garlic, and had to borrow a crucifix from my Catholic girlfriend down the block and sneak it into the house past my very Lutheran mother. I'm not sure I ever quite recovered.
The Phaaaaaan-tom of the O-per-a is here (dumdumdum) … you know the rest.
Too true.
I'm starting my big Reread this summer, a chapter a day, and I had forgotten that Lady Stoneheart appears at the end of SoS. The part I was missing was the story that Jaime tells Tyrion about good old dad and Tyrion's first love. At the end, I understood why it was elided, but I thought the absence made Tyrion's…
Me? I started the great re-read Friday night. Should be almost caught up by the time the next season starts. Hope I don't have to do it again before the next book comes out.
But does everyone have a cameraperson lingering his lens lovingly (sorry, getting carried away) on them as she leaves the house?
Oh - and to be more succinct: Roommate - he's not a mate and he's not in my room; Housemate - he's not a mate but he is in the house.. Ergo: Housebuddy.
It's what I call the occasional people who share my house - finally got a good one. We like the same TV. I'm an old lady, he's a relatively young man, no romance at all, just comfortable friends. And he pays his half of the rent. On time. And cleans up after himself. And has a job. So far, so good.
But they did keep showing piles of cordwood. Cute.
