In fairness, the original Grown-Ups only made 9.9 times as much as The Master did.

Mrs Richard F Schiller:

The book of Mormon only bans "hot drinks", meaning tea or coffee. Soda is absolutely fine, and the leadership recently put out a statement saying as much.

Right, it's a less grim take on war, which is fine for what is essentially a YA adventure story. Perhaps the body count goes up later in the book series, I dunno. And yeah, you could definitely argue that the story is jingoistic, but the premise pretty much requires that. I would argue the "should we fight these

So, I watched Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010), which promises to be an Australian version of Red Dawn and delivers. It lacks the "edge" of the original Red Dawn, which had a rather clear message about the moral decay and misery inherent in guerrilla war.  But the characters are better-defined and more compelling

Right, Anna Chapman.

I'm shocked and dismayed there hasn't been any discussion of the MTV Movie Awards nominations, and Jennifer Lawrence's continuing dominance in that realm.

Are they startiing with season 1?

I'm still going to entertain the possibility of a bizarre mid-series genre shift into post-apocalyptic Alternate History.

It reminds me of the Jack and the Beanstalk review, saying it's technically well made, just a formula that's been beaten to death. Only it's a full letter grade higher, of course.

1) Speaking as a security guard, the scene where Elizabeth just strolls out of the motor pool really strikes true for me. After about a week on the job you're really not going to be paying close attention to people who act like they're supposed to be there, and egress is generally less well-tracked than entry. But

I kind of hate to keep harping on this, but I don't think Greenwald is necessarily right about the film' inaccuracies. In his first column about the film, he cites Leon Panetta and members of the Senate Intelligence committee in saying that torture played no role in finding Bin Laden. But why on Earth would he of all

The thing is, that's way too high a bar to set. The idea that torture is 100% incapable of producing intelligence is crazy. Rather, the argument should be that it's A) Morally wrong and B) Vastly less effective than other techniques.

Dude, Casablanca was and is pretty well-regarded, and rightfully so.

Laura Bush was onscreen for less than 10 seconds of a telecast in 2002. Politically objective folks would have a hard time remembering that as well.

I hope he's also a pop culture-savvy escape artist who partners with a tough, orphaned black female spy. And a monkey.

Front page headline on Salon currently: "THE ONION'S HIPSTER MISOGYNY."

Yeah it was supposed to be a significantly older actress, but Lawrence apparently nailed the audition so perfectly that they cast her anyways.
