Since AWD doesn’t help you stop or turn in the snow, it really doesn’t do a whole lot except help you start moving, and a calm right foot will do that for you. Snow tires are a better way to spend your money because they help you start, turn, and stop.
I was initially confused as well but eventually figured it out. The phrase “the solution here is to put two of the 4 cylinders into the engine bay” would parse better as “the solution here is to put two of the 4 cylinder engines into the engine bay”. Once that’s understood the comment is actually rather amusing.
