I’m not downplaying racism. I very clearly acknowledge racism as a significant barrier. What I’m asking for is realistic solutions. Reparations aren’t realistic. Hell we can’t even get free internet to kids whose parents can’t afford it. I’m not going to sit around waiting for a reparation check from Donald Trump.

This seems all well and good, but most of us have jobs and have to do trite stuff like pay bills, or take care of children or parents, like the boring plebes we are. My student loan servicer is not a big fan of lofty goals as a reason for defaulting.
