I still trust Sam Esmail (I'm a Mr. Robot stalwart) and Michael Schur is borderline modern-day Norman Lear Status ("The Office" U.S., "Parks & Recreation", "Brooklyn 99", and now "The Good Place"). Whatever he does next, I'm probably watching sight unseen simply based on his resume.

Damnit! I knew I missed one. I think I haven't viewed YTW through the same lens because it didn't hit the mental health piece until S2 and S3 kind of varied between Jimmy's grief, Gretchen's battle with therapy, and Edgar and Lindsay's relationship issues all together. But I like where your head is.

That was actually a young Shawn Wayans (part of "the two younger ones that make shit movies")

The influence of, and grounding within, horror has been noted. I've mentioned the similarities between World's Angriest Boy and The Babadook, also the Yellow Eyed Devil is like any Boogeyman that can haunts the main character but remains unseen but the supporting cast especially the "adults" or more mature characters

My closed captioning throughout the first three episodes agrees…

One major reason I love this show is the same reason I loved Key & Peele: the full commitment to a particular aesthetic without overplaying the humor. In this episode, Patti and Tom leaned fully into the "Grateful Dead"-type including having a concert tour for each vendor and billowing smoke pouring out of the van.

"Patti's normal. Josh is normal. Tom is…Well, who knows what the hell Tom is," made me laugh…

My wife was visibly upset after watching that part. She's not a consistent viewer but she pay attention if I'm watching the show on Demand. After watching the yak piss gag, she kept saying it loud: "Why? Why the hell would you do something like that? I don't care how much you want your parents to like you". It made

The hats go to the big Hat Rack in the Sky, where all of Maria Bello's hats from the lone season of Prime Suspect rest.

That's a pretty fair assessment. Though I would probably distinguish a little more:
The executive producer one
The talented one
Who's the "DJ one" however?

I liked La La Land but I agree that Whiplash is a better movie. But if we're judging barred on what movie stays with you, out of the three I've watched (including Hidden Figures), I would go with Fences hands down. I'm planning on watching Arrival and Hell or High Water this weekend. Sadly, I don't I'll be able to

I still enjoy Hemsworth as Thor. He looks like a Norse god and acts with a single-mindedness befitting an individual not of this world.

Yeah…"WhatCulture" video + Good Job, Internet = immediate disdain by the A.V. Club commentariat

I'm 100% on board with March becoming the new month for hot shit to drop: Logan, Kong, Ghost in the Shell, "Underground" Season 2, now this.

Agree. Love Rachel Weisz and Djimon Honsou. Tilda Swinton was inspired. And Peter Stormare as Satan was delightful. Strong movie.

Just Friends with Amy Smart?
I guess my overall point was that his filmography is all over the place but Definitely, Maybe stands as a perfect example of traditional, well-made leading man role he could fill.

"The Prisoner" is before my time but I know of the show and its premise thanks to references here at AV Club. I looked at Google Images of McGoohan, definitely agree!

Watched it a couple of days ago. Entertaining! I thought the action sequences might be more operatic, given how much people had raved about the film.

100x over WALL-E. Those first 5-10 minutes is some of the best storytelling in the past couple of decades.
