From that picture I would’ve never noticed those were knockoffs. To be honest I think this whole post is a bit of an exaggeration. But why is anyone being ridiculed for these? Again, it’s not about whether or not the product is cheap, it’s the fact that kids are getting humiliated for them...

I think you might be missing the point. Kids often struggle for validation, especially among peers. They have a much greater need to feel like they’re fitting in. But more importantly, they are much more likely to be ridiculed relentlessly.

Yeah, I’m not a kid and don’t have (nor desire to have) airpods or the knockoffs. However, I know what being a kid is like and how judgmental other kids are. I agree, be who you are and what not, but no matter who you are, you never want to be ridiculed.

Way to make kids who can’t afford anything but knockoffs even more self-conscious about their decisions.
