Dolphins are so much better at the empathy thing than us! I read that their concept of themselves is not separate from their concept of community, so they actually understand empathy!
And that's all I feel comfortable saying to a stranger on the internet. I am in the medical profession and my experience with mental health is very robust and my comments on the matter are valued.
I'm in the medical profession.
AH i thought about that! Idk if this was the creators of The Leftovers injecting their political/personal views or just knowing that would be a shocking/traumatic thing for someone to witness.
No, I get it!
It's okay, the internet is a shitty place to have discussions, and suicide is a very touchy subject.
If by "romanticizing" suicide, you mean painting people as empathetic figures who make a decision to kill themselves as a means to get out of despair, yes, I'm okay with it.
"Poisoning them with suicide"
You obviously meant to type to the wrong person and not me; I'm not the one who is criticizing people who commit suicide, the person I made a comment to is. I'm very sympathetic towards human despair.
So what about kids who suicide on their parents? Kids who suicide on their siblings?
A lot of medical professionals are terrible at asking for help, but their job is to help people. In real life, there is a lot of stigma about asking for help when you are a medical professional.
Yea, please don't speak about suicide victims, those who are suicidal. Please don't.
1. Everyone is self-centered. It is human nature to be concerned with yourself, your actions, and your world, so that's a moot point.
I watched the first two episodes and never got back in until recently.
Especially with The Leftovers motif of water and death. She's drank the kool-aid, in this case, the big, vast ocean. Man.
I want her to be alive, but I know she isn't.
Also!
I just binged the whole series and I'm so glad that I did so I could be part of this discussion. This was the best episode of this season.
Viola Davis. That's it. Lol
