The Git Gud types are some of the worst people on Earth, but they do have a point that it’s one thing to have an easy mode, but it’s VERRRRRY different to watch a guide and beat a boss. The execution is way different

I think all the versions are ugly tbh. Granted, I played it on a vanilla PS4 in performance mode, but there was something cloying about the textures and faces

How many times have you seen it? I didn’t really get it the first time, but then I watched it a second time and everything clicked

Schreier pointed out a few weeks ago that pretty much everything in that Square leak has turned out to be true. I give it 6 months before they announce Switch ports for FFT and/or Chrono Trigger

Actually curious now: if that’s the case, how do you bypass Gascoigne in Bloodborne?

LMAO you know you don’t have a point and your back’s against a wall, so you’re trying to git gud me. Take that L

This argument gets blown the fuck up when you see Elden Ring’s numbers and realize how many people’s enjoyment of the game (including mine) boils down to the fact you can always go someplace else if you get stuck on a boss. That was simply not an option for most if not all of the other From games

“Immersion” gamers are possibly the worst kind of gamer besides, like, incels. Their arguments always boil down to “anything that makes me realize I’m not reality’s protagonist is inherently bad”

I don’t disagree with you, but A. you have to have the attitude where you’re ok with being frustrated (which I’m using Elden Ring to teach myself), and B. you have to be willing to put the time in, which just isn’t an option for a lot of players. I gave Bloodborne a solid try, but couldn’t get past Gascoigne and

I bounced waaaaaay the fuck off Bloodborne, haven’t played any of the other Soulskiro games, but picked up Elden Ring since it was being lauded as something far more accessible. If you haven’t played any of these games, it might take you a while to regard it as “fun.” I’m probably 6-10 hrs in (time doesn’t exist) and

Avatar was the highest grossing film of all time for a while. People cosplayed and got tattoos of Navi. Nowadays no one gives a shit. I’m still going to watch the sequel because it’s Cameron, but it doesn’t have staying power.

There were tons of people in The Discourse after launch saying almost exactly this, but sincerely. It’s not an obvious joke if people were blaming PS4 owners for believing that the devs would actually optimize it for PS4

Los Espookys kicks ass and they just announced that season 3 of South Side got picked up; HBO Max’s slate of good indie comedy is fucking STACKED

You’re misunderstanding what bad controls actually are. RE4 works as a sequel to the games by preserving the tank controls in a way that still works within the game. It’s not that they’re unresponsive or unintuitive; they’re just not what you normally expect from an over the shoulder shooter

Completely disagree. The controls in 4 are what make or break the game. It’s not as immediately user-friendly to have to stop moving when you want to aim, but the tension that gets added as a result of these controls makes it a vastly improved game

Breaking games down into each one’s set of verbs has been something I’ve seen more and with in games criticism. It’s an opaque way to describe things but once you understand it as a framing mechanism, it begins to make more sense

You mean you DON’T care about the marital woes of a horrendously corrupt cop? What kind of beta simp are you???

Hmmm, that’s the opposite of what I read. Hope it’s the case!

It’s . . . good. You still get a weird gatekeeping contingent that pokes their heads above ground sometimes. Overall, it’s nice to get appreciation for older games, but there’s always a rancid pack of assholes everywhere you go, even moreso if you’re in a gamer space

I am absolutely the target audience for r/patientgamers, because I am cheap and old and therefore don’t carve out as much time for gaming as others do. About three nights ago, I fought the Valkyrie Queen in God of War, and that’ll be that for that game. I don’t feel the need to grind out Niflheim or do advanced
