Agreed. If I had a 4, there's no way I'd go for this. I'm upgrading from a floor model 3GS that was a given to me at an Apple Store because my 3G, which was under warranty but no longer being made, was a total piece of shit. If the 3GS were in better shape, I'd try to wait for the next one, but it's just not

Wow, I guess I was lucky after looking at these horror stories. My download was about 10 minutes, and the install and restore to backup took 20. Now I feel bad for getting impatient.

I hate that there are things you can't get rid of, i.e. the default apps on the phone. I don't have stocks to check so let me delete the damn thing!

With iMessage, I wonder if they'll make it work with Mac computers as well. The main reason I like Google Voice is because I can type texts on my computer, but if I could use iMessage for that and keep all my messages in one place, that would be super great. Plus if it handles MMS, I'd really have no reason to keep

I don't know if your status has been updated, but if you do the trick described below by Celery, you can probably get the tracking info. My Apple order page says processing, but when I went to UPS and tracked by reference number using my phone number, my iPhone package came up. It made me feel a lot better to see

I tried doing the phone reference tracking last night and got nothing, but today it worked! Even though it still says processing, it has been shipped! Thank you for the excellent tip.

Thank you for the comforting words. I've never done a pre-order and, beyond just being excited for it, I really need it before my 3GS lets out its death rattle.

You lucky jerk.

I'm in Austin which leads me to wonder, are they discriminating against Texas?? I've been refreshing the order update page like a maniac and it's still stuck in Preparing for Shipment, so it can't just be that the email got hung up.

I just asked this in WhiteNoise, but have most people received shipping notifications for pre-orders of the 4s that were made when the delivery date was the 14th? I still haven't received mine and I'm starting to wonder how it's going to get all the way over here from China by Friday.

And that is a great improvement. My Audi has voice recognition but, since I can't remember most of the precise commands, I barely use it.

For anyone out there who had an issue adding AppleCare+ to their order, I just checked my order and it had been automatically added since I placed my order. During the pre-orders, there wasn't an add to cart option for that, so I did a live chat with an Apple rep who told me I would need to take my phone to the Apple

Cool idea but WAY overpriced. It's beyond all reason. The worst example I've seen was wallpaper that was just high res photos of everyday objects like saltines or pencils. It cost $800 per roll of 3.5x8' paper. Who are these rich jerks with Urban Outfitters taste?

Does anyone have an opinion about the s100 vs the new Canon 510HS? They look pretty similar except the f2 lens and raw of the s100. As a total non-pro user, I'm wondering which is the best for me. I've been holding out for a while on upgrading my old Lumix hoping for a camera with good low light performance and

I'm right-handed, but I taught myself to use the mouse with both hands to ward off the severe hand/wrist/arm cramps I was getting from frequent usage. Prior to that, I was right-hand only.

There's a movie from the '80s called The Tower ([www.imdb.com] that deals with this very issue. The computer system in charge of reclaiming energy becomes so intent on finding new sources of energy that it ends up killing almost every human in the building.

This reminds me of the fake Grunge Slang from the '90s when an employee at Sub Pop made up a bunch of shit that the New York Times published because they were desperate to capitalize on the craze of the moment. ([en.wikipedia.org] This is just so forced.

Yes. What is your point?

I can see Max Headroom being into it...if he had legs, of course.

But young Robert De Niro does not approve of that Robert De Niro, so where does that leave us?
