Gotta admit... that IS an interesting approach!

The unique factor about the Cenobites, is that they are the product of their own desires. In seeking higher levels of their own desires, or outright depravity; they become tools of the Labyrinth. It may not be a new idea, by any means, but the way HR 1 and 2 presented their transformations was haunting.
Just "versionize" the OS for Home or Professional use. DONE!
When I boot my PC, there is an indicator of new emails in the tray. The first application opened is Outlook, and there are the unread emails in boldface. This isn't a "game-changing" boost. If I just got to work, I already know what the weather is like, and that's unimportant for the next 9 hours anyway. News? …
I don't think this is a matter of the "world panics."
Looking for an analogy here... Some would prefer to purchase precut pieces of meat, because that's what the recipe tells you to make of them anyway. Metro is the precut meat. It fits a perfect purpose for that use. Others want the entire steak to throw on the grill because their recipe is much more simple, and it's…
There will be two types of Microsoft customers: those who like Metro, for the benefits they enjoy about it and the pleasant new features... and those who prefer Windows because it is what they are used to and just want to get shit done. It's not a fault in either group. It's simply a matter of preference.
Gotta admit, always loved Hellraiser. Was the first movie I made a "questionable" VHS copy of, and watched it way too many time. But, the acting is horrible, and Clive Barker's imagination could really benefit from modern CGI effects.
LMAO!!!
I like changing out my desktop picture from time to time, and I keep desktop icons to a minimum just to enjoy a quick glance at something interesting before diving into my work. Hate to see that covered up with gawdy colored tiles.
We're in the same situation!
I still don't see the advantage over the application tabs in the taskbar (XP, 7). Always visible, and immediately available to switch between programs on the fly.
It's a perfect OS for phones, tablets, home devices. It has many strengths for those uses. But, that's not generally the bulk of my Windows use...
Seems Microsoft would take advantage of these differences with the same multi-level, multi-version releases of the OS.
Awesome! Spot on... I'm one of those guys who always views the "Details" instead of the "Icons"...
Yes indeed ;) Working on it in my home lab now...
It's not my own huffy-puffyness that I worry about. I support over 2000 PC's. That's 2000 huffy-puffy people, many of whom I consider "power-users" Expecting adaptation to such a makeover of the interface is just a slap in the face to all IT professionals, and to the productivity of the end users...
Surely you can edit Group Policy to run a script at startup that automatically moves the user past the tiles and into a real OS... Right? Like running an application at startup... "Run real desktop (explorer.exe)" or something of that nature
Perhaps I am less concerned about the past of Mars. What is important to us, as a single-planet race, is: Can Mars eventually support Human life, given a great deal of "terraforming" or underground development?
Well, CRAP! I started early!
