Why do people think they are at zero risk for STDs? Acceptably, low rate, yes. I am not trying to knock anyone’s relationship, but plenty of people in long-term relationships have had unpleasant surprises at the doctor’s office.

I was thinking the same thing, like how it’s easier for a single woman w/o kids to climb the corporate ladder, and all the emotional labor and daily chores and errands women have to do to keep a household running.

Yeah, as someone who started later than typical in the US, afterward, I called it “the vagina project,” because for an absent-minded person, it was a change to have to think about birth control of various sorts, deal with UTIs and yeast infections, etc.

Plenty of black teachers have internalized racism and treat black students in a manner disproportionate to their behavior.

My mom teaches kindergarten, and when she gets corrected by a kid, and the kid is right, she thanks the kid and makes a positive comment about paying attention and/or learning.

Considering the low number of job options available to women in the past it makes sense, unfortunately.

You forgot the change to accept the status quo in one’s late 20s or 30s — marriage, kids, white picket fence regardless of her past.
