Yup, this.
Yup, this.
That NOES remake was just......nonexistent. It just sat there. It wasn’t scary, it wasn’t interesting, it wasn’t anything.
In terms of directing, I want Peele sticking to original material. I can see producing a strong remake/reboot of something iconic like NOES - in fact he’s already behind the Candyman remake/reboot - but on his films I want him to really have free reign. He’s already earned it.
Ctrl+F for “Strawberry” and “Gooden” = zero results.......
“I was on my way to score a bunch of coke but then Chuck Knoblauch deked me. And here we are!”
I am always late to the party on the best TV shows, so when I finally took a crack at The Good Place this week, it was no surprise that it’s awesome as hell. Just finished S1 tonight - what a finale!! Might even still start S2 tonight......it’s so forking addicting!
Good point. Thank you.
I’m afraid I can’t bring myself to click on that. I might throw my computer thru the window.
Oh believe me, I get it. But back then, everyone knew who Dolt 45 was. He’d been famous for decades. So my questions stands. Again, I’ve literally never talked to anyone IRL about this man’s existence. I’m genuinely curious.
Does this guy enter into “just stop talking about him, that’s what gives him juice” territory? I have never once had a conversation in real life where his name even came up, yet over time I have seen at least a dozen articles here about him. I’m not judging - I genuinely don’t know. What level of influence did he ever…
Well......you did say that you hope he ends up living. Not everyone would even go that far.
we see the hero practicing or training to master their powers to find out what they can do.
Not so much a “hot” take as a “very common, you’ve heard this countless times before” take, but ok.
Greatest director in history. There, now we each said something.
Agreed. He’s already explained, in as much detail as anyone could ever reasonably expect, how he works.
I would substitute “explained” for “admitted” but yeah
The whole “super strong female empowerment” message also gets muddled because not only did Carol only get her powers by pure luck, but she didn’t even need to train to master her powers, since most of what was holding her back was the implant chip the Kree implanted.
Goddamnit.
I shouldn’t bother, but anyway:
Holy CHRIST, my posts are just magically showing up. It’s good to know that commenting here for a decade can eventually mean your posts don’t just automatically get dumped into some grey grinder. How fabulous.
