Eh, Roache is pretty controlled. The words coming out of his mouth are insane nonsense, but his actual performance is fairly dialed down. He does have a couple nutty moments, though. But compared to the times when Cage goes full-Cage, it pales.

Upped for the Franco nod
You know, that’s an interesting question. They seem absolutely supernatural upon introduction, but some of their behavior is pretty basic human stuff. But then......other stuff happens. I’m still not sure, and that’s how I like it.
More emperor’s new acid for me, please.
I was in the same boat as you - saw it a few days ago and it’s FUCKING RAD. Hope you love it as much as I did!
I too thought it was totally weird that they didn’t mention Tombstone, clearly his best and most well-known film.
It’s miles ahead of a grindhouse pic, but I still agree with your basic sentiment.
It’s one of my favorite horror movies of all time, and I rank it among the best of the decade regardless of genre. Different strokes and all that.
Honestly I think if you couldn’t get through BTBR, this really might not be for you. No value judgment, just a thought. This thing is really slow and dreamy for the first half in particular, and even in the action-packed second half it has a tendency to linger in the narcotized moments.
Right? This is truly one of those movies where it’s 100% clear from the jump whether it’s for you or not. I was going to see it no matter what, but let me tell you, it’s fucking awesome.
I thought Mom And Dad was dope but it was pretty crucial that one turns their brain off to a certain extent.
It really does make for a dope opening to the film.
That was my first thought, too, but I’m not sure where he would have even seen this movie by that point. IIRC Dowd had some notes on it from a festival screening earlier this year but IV wasn’t there, and this thing just came out. Obviously critics have access to things way before we do but the timeline just struck me…
I genuinely don’t know what your point is.
You should know by now that facts are, like, a thing of the past, man.
I heard during the election was that Trump, the self-appointed “master of the deal” was actually really shitty at making good deals
you’re better than this
He definitely does a vocal impression. Whether or not it’s any good is another matter, but he’s clearly trying.
Without knowing exactly what “epic” might mean to you:
Don’t........don’t ponder this too long. For your mental health.
