Holy fuck, I can’t even imagine! Wild.

What a great way to experience Arrival. Such a great movie regardless, and to go into it with clean of a slate must have been even more powerful.

I heard and saw just enough about Hereditary to know what I might be getting into (and to get quite excited), but then purposely skipped all articles and comments here so I could go in semi-cold. I absolutely loved the movie and the only way I could have imagined it being better would be your way.

I’m not sure but I would lean towards no. I think it would be too much of a blur. Don’t get me wrong, it’s kind of a blur anyway. But with all the endless mindfuckery I for one need time to mentally breathe between episodes for sure.

And when West rudely refused, that’s when things apparently went south. It turns out Reznor has been working out a lot these last few years, and he used his newly chiseled body to hurl Mr. West into the sun. Witnesses say Reznor simply picked up West, briefly hoisted him over his head as if he’d just won the Stanley

In one of the weirder things I’ve done lately, I’m gonna upvote you just for using “FOH” alone.

Really? With Black Mirror, not only are the episodes separate from each other thus eliminating any ongoing plot complexity, but within each episode I think the text AND subtext are pretty damn straightforward. That’s not a criticism of the show as being too blunt, because I think it has plenty of subtlety in other

I’m not fixing to die on this hill, but I would recommend dipping back into Legion. I absolutely adored the first season and on the whole, yes, I was kinda disappointed by S2 and even after those first three episodes there was some more muddled stuff I didn’t care for. But I will say that it gets much better in the

I’m six episodes into my third time through Twin Peaks: The Return. I really don’t think there’s ever been anything on TV like it, ever.

I also cited Lost as a series that at least if it didn’t always pay off on the puzzles, invested us enough emotionally in the characters that we (well, most of us) were willing to put up with it.

No kidding. Such a treat to see Sean pen a piece like this, especially when numerous other writers on this site are just, shall we say, not good at their jobs.

Total co-sign on your second paragraph.

the only demand that I make of these type shows is that in the end they make narrative or thematic sense

I disagree. I think he is just the flat-out villain at this point, which is something they’ve been strongly hinting at throughout and would make it all pretty interesting.

The basic plot points of the ending of Legion S2 are indeed pretty straightforward. But how we got there? It’s hard to imagine a series of episodes with a more hazy sense of place, time, sequence of events and general stakes than the bulk of S2. I don’t mean to be all “I can understand complex things!” but.....I’ve

Sicario II: Electric Drugaloo

Nah, he probably just remembered that he likes money.

Bingo.

This. I really liked the first one but had no interest in seeing it go anywhere else, and when I first heard about a sequel brewing, the thoughts I had are basically mirrored in IV’s review.

I haven’t read this recent book, but I do remember him coming under some heat for his public reaction/writings after his sister passed away. I can’t recall the context but I think people found it cold.
