Given the current state of the world, I probably wouldn’t tell my family I was pregnant until it was absolutely impossible to hide it. I’m too paranoid that something will happen to the fetus that makes abortion necessary. I don’t think there’s a reason in the world they wouldn’t hate me for that.

This might be helpful. It also looks like local planned parenthoods are listed and graded as well:

He’s not getting a pat on the back for declaring he won’t do something. You really want to protect the LGBT community? How about an executive order declaring that, across the nation, a person cannot be evicted, fired or denied service because of their sexuality?

I told him that. He didn’t believe me. He thinks that traditionally female jobs - like teaching and nursing - just happen to be the types of jobs that don’t have high salaries. If they want to be paid more, they should choose a different profession.

Any idea what the ratio of men to women is at this thing?

I don’t think there is anything you can say. I argued with my brother over the holidays about equal pay. He claimed that the numbers were lies because they were averaging the amount of money all working women get with all working men. And since women are more likely to work in lower paying jobs, of course they would

I think I am in love with the Netherlands

Right there with you. I’m trying to just stop paying attention, but at the same time I feel a great need to pay attention. I am freaking out. And I am also determined to remember all of this. I won’t let Trump or the GOP forget this shit.

I am right there with you. I didn’t go to the Women’s March, but I watched it. I had a family Christmas rescheduled for that weekend and was also still a bit afraid. But I am done being defeated and scared. I feel energized and I’m ready to get out there. I’ve found places to volunteer to near by, I’ve started monthly

It’s sort of funny when people assume my main priority in every day life is to cook and clean, but also assume I am equal.

“Anything is possible” is not a good way to govern.

I never understand this argument. The greater inequality of another country doesn’t make the inequality here right.

I agree. Trump deserves to be treated by those who disagree with him with as much grace and respect as those who disagreed with Obama treated him.

I’m pretty sure my dad believes crap like that, which is why my life continues to blow his mind. Over the holidays, my boyfriend said my dad kept looking at him weird after he told him about his promotion. You see, my boyfriend and I live in sin and therefore shouldn’t be enjoying any kind of success.

So much this. This would would be a better place if fewer abortions were necessary. And we could make abortion less necessary, with sex ed, access to contraception and an end to shaming women for getting pregnant outside of marriage. That’s what it means to be anti-abortion and that certainly also fits in well with

I could buy the idea that a person could be anti-abortion and also a feminist, but only if they are actually anti-abortion and not just anti-choice.

Unitarian Universalist and the United Church of Christ are both pro-choice religions. And yet somehow their freedom of religion doesn’t matter here.

Wasn’t the percentage of people getting married as virgins in the 1950s something like 11%. The saying “make an honest women out of her” did not come out of no where. The idea that most people who didn’t want to get pregnant were abstinent at any time in history is absurd.

I’m sort of confused with all this talk of replacing the ACA with a different plan.

I definitely feel like there are is a large segment of men who support women’s issues but are turned off by feminism. It’s frustrating because I don’t think any movement should be judged by it’s bad apples. It seems to be the way of the world these days, though. I can think of at least a few movements these days where
