The dishwasher is not a garbage disposal. Unless your dishwasher has magical elves who pop out and scrub your dishes, some of that food will just get baked on. Just rinse the dishes! It's not that hard!

This might work for families that end up running the dishes daily, but not rinsing plates off? I've seen enough plates with dried on pasta sauce come out of a dishwasher to know better.
