Back in the late 70s/early 80s a lot of vehicle would start to knock on regular as they got up in miles. Frequently using midgrade would stop the knocking.

Yeah, it looks pretty fucking big. As in- it looks like the size of the Bay Bridge over here in Oakland/ San Francisco

Plus, how fast do they think things happen? It’s gonna take a decade or two before a new bridge is built to replace this. Even if it were possible to reinforce this bridge to prevent something like this, it would have started a good 10+ years ago, well before Biden ever took office.

My understanding is that the ship lost power several times prior to the collision and essentially drifted into the support.

Car news: the Port of Baltimore handles more auto imports than any other port in the country. It’s going to take quite a while to clear the channel. VW is just outside where the bridge was - just a huge facility - but a lot of roll-on/roll-off traffic was handled inside. We’ll see if/how quickly importers can adjust.

I’m over here amused that the MAGA crowd is giving any shits about Baltimore in the first place.

The Dali is something like 960 feet long, and being a container ship it’s a chunky 960 feet. I don’t know that there are many (or any) bridges in the world that could have survived this collision.

The funny one I saw was complaining that Biden’s infrastructure bill did nothing to keep this from happening, like all the money in the world was gonna reinforce a bridge against a damn cargo ship running into it.

The Dali’s insurer will say the bridge deserves at least 25% of the blame for stopping in the middle of a known shipping route.

the bridge was asking for it.

Maga is already blaming Pete Buttigig, Biden and liberals all over social media. Bad shit happens not everything has to be a conspiracy.

Gotta wait for the adjusters to hash it out. A nearby boat ramp witnessed the collision and the rumor is that bridge may not be at fault here.

The videos do not do justice as to how large this bridge is. It’s just that the damn ship is so damn huge.

A busy bridge in Baltimore collapsed early Tuesday morning following a collision with a cargo ship.

You know that meme book, “How to Avoid Huge Ships?”

Well, the media (and us, by extension) keep falling for it, don’t they? “Ooh, they’ve really got him now! He’s gonna have to face the music this time!” It’s what they were all saying after Muller, after the first impeachment, the second one, the insurrection hearings, each of the four insurrections, and now this

So uhhh... which is it? Did ChatGPT glitch out or something? The sub-head and then the opening line. Literally read back-to-back. Sloppy.

Don’t screw over your Steam fanbase by moving the PayDay2 multiplayer servers to Epic, which made them lose all their progress in-game. That killed a lot of the goodwill PayDay 2 got them over the years.

If a game has a mtx store that works perfectly but the game itself is riddled with more bugs than a planet on Helldivers, you know which priority the devs were assigned to work on the most.

Instructions unclear: OBVIOUSLY the problem is there weren’t enough microtransactions.
