The auto equip is nice, but like it said up in the article it can get confused and make some weird choices. It’s usually good at making the obvious choices like negating field advantages, but then it’ll be like “this enemy is tough so I’ll give Kirby a seventh jump.”

The computer is super cheesy. It’ll always land just outside your hitbox and in range to punish a whiffed smash attack. It’s good at avoiding taking damage while on or near an edge (grab, reset, grab, reset “fuck!”).

Ive been opting to play Classic Mode to unlock characters since you’re guaranteed a “Challenger approaching” fight after each run. Same thing here, I played through Link’s classic mode at lunch and this game just handles amazingly. I played portable with my pro controller and it was a blast, probably the best portable experience I have had with the switch yet.

I can’t even bring myself to read about Spirits. It just seems so unnecesarily complicated and annoying.

At least this time it’s a pure time-based condition and not anything else. You’ll naturally unlock the characters just by playing the game as you normally would.

Except I don’t get to play fighting games often. For me time-unlock is a time waster. On the few occasions when I get to play multiplayer I want to have a full roster available.
