Because it’s still an active gaming news story.
I think anyone who blames IGN already had an axe to grind with IGN. They couldn’t have handled it better, and they will likely have to re-review games for integrity reasons. There’s no money to be made in them doing so.
The dude must have spent more time looking for obscure sources to steal from, than actually writing a review would have taken.
It’s going to be interesting to see if the powers in charge at IGN (aka: Tina’s boss’s boss) decide to go after his pay. After all, he essentially defrauded the company.
Jesus...what a disaster this is. I’m not particularly a fan of IGN as an outlet, but I feel for their staff and the amount of bullshit they’ve had to deal with over one ex-coworkers deception. It’s pretty clear at this point that Miucin is little more than a con-man who lied his way into a position a lot of people put…
Hi, Filip, how’s the job search going?
What pushed him to do this? No offense but reviewing a game is really not the hardest job and it’s not like he had to pump dozens of reviews a day.
There is a real bell curve going on here for “how interested I am in this story.” With the Dead Cells review, my interest was high. When FIFA story came out, I was still interested, but a little less. By the Metroid and HD Rumble stories, it was even lower. The guy is guilty as hell. However, the more stuff that comes…
Honestly, I’d say the guy seems to suffer from some sort of pathology. To claim innonsence and then so boldly challenge the internet, when there’s so many other examples of copying indicates there’s some sort of disconnect in the guy - both his inability to not steal from other people, and then his lying about it, and…
Eh, in this case it’s because someone noticed the similarity, but my guess is that he was playing the odds (successfully for a long time) that most game writing is both pretty high volume and relatively disposable*, at least when it comes to reviews on major sites. Plus the effort to monitor this manually is probably…
This was always going to be how it happens. I wouldn’t be surprised if you looked at his University work and he was doing the same thing. This is learned behavior and he’s almost certainly been doing it his entire career. A plagiarist is at their core intellectually lazy and dishonest and those don’t just suddenly pop…
I disagree. Filip called out Jason & Kotaku specifically. I feel like they’re obligated to respond to Filip’s arrogance and egotistic attitude.
This is really bad. It’s one thing if he got lazy one time and got caught but this is a long pattern of theft. If he wasn’t done before he’s most certainly done now. On the plus side I hear there’s an opening at IGN...
No problem, we should send them. Oh, don’t bring your guns as the 2nd amendment you cherish does not exist there. That overthrow the gobenment wit yer gunz don’t fly there. You don’t overthrow Russia, Russia overthrow you! That goes for that I don’t like that gobernment speech in Russia. Anti goberment t-shirts like…
Sounds like the ideal place for mediocre (if even that) white men with nothing to offer society to really shine. No wonder these two MAGA dildoes want to move there.
They were indoctrinated to hate the USSR. Russia as it currently stands actually represents their ideal; predominately white, with the women and the gays and the minorities severely and brutally oppressed.
I wish they’d make good on their as empty-as-their-heads threat. It dovetails perfectly with my own, regularly-given advice to Republicans.
What a pair of proud patriots.
They grew up and lived thru the Cold War. They should be indoctrinated to hate Russia, but their indoctrination to worship the Republican Party is stronger. That’s incredible.
