It was the worst! A couple of my standout dumb Lauer observations included:

Same anytime I binge watch Hulu on my Roku. They use the same commercials and for some they have you “choose your ad experience” which is fucking stupid and angers me even more.

Same. I’m obsessed with women’s gymnastics and am pissed I will have to go out of my way to avoid the Internet Sunday to avoid spoilers for the qualifications. I want to see the “journey” whatever the fuck that means, but I want to see their scores as they compete!

I was struggling to stay awake, but I wanted to see the torch lighting. Then he walked out and BAM! I was awake. All over.

Well after that Tonga entrance, I think it’s safe to say we’re all Team Pita.

I think Salt Lake City was a success too. My ex-boyfriend was in the Army and they were at the games and he thought it was pretty cool. And yeah, like you said up thread that they managed to use the infrastructure afterwards.

I like this idea. Vancouver popped in my head because their 2010 Olympics seemed to be a success. Or at least I don't remember a lot of controversy, problems, etc.

I live in Chicago and we really dodged an expensive bullet. We have enough problems that we can’t fix so if we’d won the bid...I shudder to think.

And we know things that make sense means less money in corrupt pockets.

Seriously, there should be one permanent Olympics locale for Winter and Summer. All competing nations would have to contribute to upkeep, but it would be far less than the costs of building all this shit every 4 years.
