YES. Let’s call out cults, terrorist groups, and other shit on Facebook for what it is! I am so tired of the whole “connect the world” crap that Zuckerberg is still selling while basically underwriting mass death and destruction with absolutely no oversight or legal recourse.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

Totally agree, and I’ll just add that I’m glad I’m someone who never wants to give birth, so I will never have to deal with any of this stuff.

I am vehemently against having children on a personal level. I am 30, I have never wanted children, and have zero desire biological or otherwise. Yet, the amount of people who say “youll change your mind when you are older” or “youre too young, I bet in five years youll have a kid and love it.”

Tell them the Earth is dying because there’s already too many people on the planet.

This. My daughter is now in high school, but a few years ago when they were learning about WWII she was very irritated by all the Nazi jokes. For context, she goes to a school that was about 50% black, 40% Latino and less than 10% white. I was not at all concerned about the Salvadoran kid who kept saying stupid…
