My first car in the mid 1980s was an Escort. I immediately bought the double wiper blades ( that immediately broke during the next heavy rain ) . I also added fog lights ( not in itself bad but installed by an inept 17 year old ( me ) , I proceeded to shear them off on a steep driveway. Good times

Second Gen S10/Sonoma 4.3L engines. #3 plug needs you to remove the intermediate steering shaft . Replacing a blower motor requires you to remove the ecu/radiator reservoir/ inner fender guard just to get to it (oh and forget about re attaching the bottom screw). Forget about the heater core/ cheaper to buy another

This Is really a shame. I was and am an avid fan of the show. However I miss the series as it was in the UK. Mike and Edd are a good pair and the show was different from most car-centric programs by avoiding many of the hacky pretenses that plague the genre. Velocity started getting their mitts on the chemistry when

My first new car, a 1988 1/2 Ford Escort LX. What really pissed me off is my father talked me out of buying a MKII Golf for this epitome of late Eighties American indifference to quality. The car had numerous transmission foibles, it blew up 2 batteries, squeaks and rattles, an intermittent tendency to completely shut

My next door neighbor has a regular Avalon and on an occasion I have driven it to pick them up from the airport. I was impressed on how comfortable, quiet, and enjoyable it was to drive. I think the hybrid setup would make this car even quieter. Plus compared to the CPO Lexus (nice car as well), I think the Avalon

Honestly, The Lexus ES is a good suggestion. However, I would also recommend the Camry Hybrid or an Avalon Hybrid. Both have plenty of space, a proven hybrid setup, and reliability.

All in all, I think the Ionic will be a good seller for Hyundai. I will soon be in the market for another commuter car (my current commuter car is a hybrid but eventually go to my soon to be driving age kids). I have be actively looking at this and the Kia Niro as options. I also like the idea of more interior space

Quick questions: While I like the Saab 9-5 (I previously owned a 9000 which I loved), weren’t these cars stuck in some automotive limbo while the Saab was in its death throes? Also how much of GM’s parts were integrated into the 9-5? Purist aside, parts availability becomes an overriding issue as these age

the driver was just out of his Element. I suck.....

Minivans are really the unsung heroes of the automotive market. I had a 2001 Honda Odyssey (No tranny issues with mine during the 115k mileage I had the vehicle) and my in-laws have a 2011-12ish Odyssey and both vans were dead reliable. I did many trips from the northeast to FL with a packed van getting close to

I am well into my 40's and I can conclusively say that a 1988.5 Ford Escort with 90hp with a slushbox is dangerously slow (like 12.5 seconds to 60mph slow). We are spoiled now with <5 second 0 to 60mph times, but I guarantee that the Mazda may not set the world on fire but fast enough

I completely agree. The small CUV craze is here to stay and it seems the Ford wants to jump into the fray. I have no doubt that it will sell well based on the sales on the competing models (Trax/Encore/HR-V etc). Hopefully Ford did its due diligence and fixed whatever issues the first Euro spec models had.

A civilian can apply to ride along for any shift or sometimes just a portion of the shift). This is not uncommon. I rode along with several different shifts in my early 20's to get a feel of the different calls that each shift generally gets.

I like the styling of the Golf Alltrack. That being said, VW is in a serious quandry. Even before dieselgate, VW was/is dealing with poorer than the industry average reliability issues. That to me is a far bigger long term problem than dieselgate. (Kia/Hyundai still sell and resale at a steeper devaluation from their

I will say that the proper manual makes the Caliber livable. I have a close friend who specifically wanted a manual Caliber (Black with alloys and the 2.0L/5speed SXT) and it is miles better than the CVT version. Great car? Nope! But decent.

Raphael,

Honestly, I laughed at the whole thing (the absurdity of it all) and just paid the fine (at the time it was rather minuscule). I spoke to a coworker and he just laughed and asked why I paid. He said he had racked up dozens of these tickets and just ignored them

I worked in Philly for about 5 years in the early 2000s (great city/shady politics). I parked on the street (posted 1 hr free parking)one day to go to a used book store. I came out around 1:45pm (about 30minutes in the store) . The parking had already ticketed the entire row of cars on the street for exceeding the

I really like the 6th Gen Camaro. It is lighter than before with a much improved platform. The engine choices are all good. (This may sound like heresy but I really lust over the V6 with the sport exhaust option). The turbo4 is a very solid base engine just ripe for upgrades and the V8 is stellar.

Overall, the Rimac has nice lines. I agree that the wheel slippage can managed by software tweaks.
