Oh no Toyota, first unintended acceleration and NOW unintended stopping.....Oh the humanity

I actually like the 2002 refreshing of the Taurus. You could actually see some Jaguar styling cues in the design and it was much better executed style wise than the 96' redesign. Unfortunately, Ford let the car languish in terms of overall refinement and let the car become a rental car special. (this worked against…
@Ian: I worked for a major airline ina major hub city for over a decade. I had a conversation with a new female pilot (her first year in the left seat) and she explained how she was basically the working poor( she paid for all of her training/non- military) for years to build up hours in the regional jets before…
From my own personal story, and mid 80's Escort. Mine was riddled with electrical problems, bad tranny, uninspired handling and power, etc. To think, I was talked out of buying a VW GTI for this piece of monkey poo.
@Number_Six: Good call. I worked for a rental car agency during the time that the Sterling was introduced to the US. We received an allotment of several autos/ and 2 manuals. At first, we were smitten with the cars (smooth honda power, luxury touches, etc). But the rental car industry quickly highlights good cars from…
@streetRIDE: My family is from NYC (Mom from the Bronx, Dad from Flushing Queens, cousins on the island). I realize that NYC is more than Manhattan, but my original point still stands. Whether you are in Manhattan or the other boroughs , it is exceedingly expensive for someone of a middle class salary. It is a great…
@joedirtia: Do not get me wrong, I am not a county bumpkin. I grew up in Baltimore (another post, another day) and lived in Philadelphia( and agree with " Ranwhenparked") for several years. And I do enjoy visiting NYC, but after 3 days , I'm done. As I have become older, I want, need and yearn for more space and less…
@PaperGarbage: I am really not trying to slam the city, but I cannot fathom how people make it there (if they are middle class elsewhere). It is a great place to visit (My family actually comes from there, but left in the early 60's to move south)
Can someone explain to me that if you are not wealthy, why would you live in NYC? I am not trying to slam the city (great history, sports, architecture, etc) but this, plus endless congestion, outrageous rent, and being crammed into public transportation is a deal killer for me
@leighzbohns: Somehow, I think that this guy is trying to be all avant garde with his Vette and he feels that us lesser folk are not getting the big social joke. But remember there was Andy Kaufman and then there was Joaquin Phoenix trying desperately to be Andy Kaufman
This isn't even a fair debate. Mate a proper V6 with a storied history with a car that's still sexy after all these years. Oh, and do it a methodical fashion and price it that even a cheap ba$tard like myself is seriously thinking of bidding on it.…
@Sth002000: First Spade and now Sean(I love Fidel & Chavez)Penn, please everyone reset their lists and subtract 2 douchebag points for the GN
I actually like the idea of sticking with the 4 cylinder (better efficiency and weigh distribution). However, about 190hp from a 2.4L is the norm these days , so Suzuki should be able to free up some more ponies. A turbo version is a logical choice
Absolutely a Nice Price. I've always liked the 364GT4 and that it was sort of a bastard child among Ferrari drivers. 5speed/unique color/decent service records= Understated Win
The Corvette is one of the few cars that looks great unmolested and great tuners use subtle bodywork to accentuate the lines of the car. This Corvette needs an exorcism, an enema, and an attack by local villagers with pitchforks and torches.
@skitter: Beat me to it... Alfa should be the number 1 seed
Being that I am almost 40, I lusted after these in my high school years. Basically, the pecking order went like this: Really cool Mustang GT5.0L (although the LX5.0 was cooler IMO), VW GTI (better if it is 16v), Dodge Daytona Turbo. Cool & not like the lemmings: Conquest TSI, VW Golf, Corolla SR5. Guess what I had…
@Elhigh: agreed for all the reasons mentioned in this post. I just looked over the guy's craigslist ad and he seems to have pretty good documentation.
I am a sucker for anything Italian made in the late sixties'-early seventies. Lambo Miura, Alfas, Panteras. They are to me , the epitome of exterior design. (who cares if the blow up with regularity, A/C and power windows work when they want to, and the wedge shape( of that time) is actually not very aerodynamic).…
