@bzr: That's it, good pull! Apparently, it had two seperate transmissions that had to be timed perfectly in shifts so that one wouldn't upset the vehicle's dynamics.

This reminds me a a small company several years back that used to convert Cadillac Eldorados with a front and rear mounted Northstar. I actually was behind one in person and couldn't avert my eyes. A plethora of emotions: repulsion, desire, shame, and envy....Weird
Perfect example of Detroit's mindset during the 1970's; big, unyielding, and slow (in power and in terms of change).
@zeeboid: still the funniest digital short. The face is priceless
@abgwin: thanks for the reply. I going to check it out. Like all my vehicles, I change all the fluids right after purchasing a vehicle , so that all fluid changes are on my schedule.
@abgwin: Good to hear. I actually like that body style compared to the new version. But I get conflicting information about the reliability of that model. Some people like you have bulletproof models. Others claim that reliability is horrible...I keep seeing on at a local used car lot with a hair over 80k on it
@Jim-Bob needs more two stroke and less hybrid!: 1 quart of oil every 200o miles is actually still within spec of most modern cars. Long live the Nissan 4 cylinders
A 2001 MItsubishi Mirage that I bought at a firesale price from a rental car agency (20K on the odometer). Yes it is slow and boring, but 170K later (i have only replaced (1) a/c high pressure line and (1)wheel bearing. Everything else was strict preventative maintenance on my part. Oil changes every 3-4k (15 miutes…
The Engine transplant almost sold me until I saw the mountain of stereo equipment/speakers/amps in the interior. Why the overkill?
@Schm, enjoying his first desert winter. .: Exactly what I was thinking.
@duurtlang: IppoJ's answer is exactly right. 90% of the US population couldn't care less that someone is gay. 5% are ultra religious and will spend time, money and advertising to promote their cause. The other 5% spend time, money and advertising to promote gay rights, ideals and acceptance. Unfortunately, both of…
For the record, this is way, way, way (I cannot say that enough) out of my price range. However, the CLK63 AMG Black speaks to me in a way few cars ever do. Look at the wheel flares, the DTM stance, the understanded brutality of this vehicle. Sure it has the wrong tranny for most of us, but it does have flappy paddles,…
@Elhigh: absolutely brilliant commentary on exactly how Chinese business is actually conducted. No reverse engineering or knock-offs there....
@Elhigh: It is good to only have modest goals in life
first..zing
@Mad_Science: Be thankful of your relatively young age. Unfortunately, I and my brothers were saddled with crappy 70's GM hand-me downs that would spontaneously fall apart if you stared at them. I can probably attest that the Vega brought more people to buy Japanese than any other vehicle in GM's history. Those…
I bought a first year, Neon Sport 4dr/5speed with the SOHC 2.0L. The marketing campaign did not kill this car, the shoddy engineering did. I liked the spunkiness of the engine (and to be fair the engine never let me down), but the suspension rattled and groaned from new, the clutch shattered at 60K (literally…
@pres: second that!!!!!
I have to side with Nissan with this. Nissan has made in implicitely clear that they will not support aftermarket modifications with this engine. Owners do so at their risk. Sometimes it can take several hours of programming to undo months(if not years) of engineering. Really, it is not like the GT-R is slow out of…
As someone who does detail my vehicles and several select customers, I applaud him fo the tenacity and the look. However, that will be a royal paint to maintain and protect. Unfortunately the plactic on the front/rear fascias take away from the work.
