Is it me , or do I really love seeing a well-designed and intricate exhaust system. Please save the dragon comments, I know I am setting myself up ...tough crowd here

@Elhigh: I couldn't agree more. I had a 1997 Ranger 5speed/4 cylinder reg cab that almost always kissed 30mpg(highway). And it carried 2 to 3 occupants (better be on a first name basis with the middle passenger because 2nd and 4 gear are going right into the crotch) and could haul all I needed at HD

Morgan is the epitome of a classic car company that continues to strive by following their own tune. Classic long hood=check, tradition married with some modern amenities=check, rabid Morgan fanatics=check. If I remember correctly, perspective Morgan owners usually wait years for delivery on a new Morgan (at least in

I'm glad to see a survivor still on the streets. However, the '77 new was overweight and way underpowered. However, a nice, modern LS1 will fit nicely under the hood and provide the necessary power/reliability that the car deserves. Also, Duplicolor makes a nice and simple PaintShop series of paints that can

If Buick can follow Cadillac and produce more driver oriented vehicles with a distinctive styling direction, then the brand will have a good chance (China not withstanding). Personally, I think Buick is on the right path

@Tanshanomi: I agree completely with the 308. I've always been very fond of the body lines of this model and the maintenance issues have been addressed ,but still $26K is steep....

This is truly an enigma. I have driven and been a passenger in an Impulse. The car back then was actually pretty competent, but the styling was ugly then and hasn't held up well recently. However, the bones of the car are nice (Lotus tuned suspension/awd/turbo 4) and would make a nice sleeper.

@longdx: Oh do a test in your hometown..count how many late 80's Honda survivors there are and how many K-car survivors are left.

In 1987, The Reliant really showed how US car companies really felt about downsized (re: "midsize") models. In 1987, The Honda Accord had a reliable, rev happy 4 cylinder massaged and relentlessly refined.

I have to admit this is a pretty good entry into the wonderful world of classic British sports cars. Simple, slow, and relatively easy to work on. My neighbor has a Triumph Spitfire Mark IV, that I keep an eye one in case he sells it.

@FiveLiters: That is really cool. I have nothing against Fox-bodied Mustangs, but I do like that Ford decided to go with a retro themed look on the newer one. I feel that Ford did a tastefully done redo on the Mustang. BTW, my dad had an 83 for over 15 years

While Top gear is my constant Number 1 seed, the episodes when the trio goes on an adventure is pure magic. The Bolivian special lives up to that very high standard.

I have to contend that the 1985.5 SVO is my #1 seed. It handled better than a 5.0 and really set the standard for the later 80's fox body style. Plus the 2.3L turbo is about as indestructible an engine Ford has ever made (vulcan 3.0l v6 not withstanding). That engine has found its way in modified Rangers, TBirds,

The problem I have with this post is that modern manufacturers make it too easy for us to go fast and pack in many electronic nannies to cover our collective asses. (Hell, a V6 Sonata was clocked by Photo Radar in the Phoenix area going over 142mph. This was super-car territory in the not so distant past).I, like

One of my favorite cars in my past was a 88 Mazda B2200 truck. The truck was honest, simple, underpowered, super reliable, and had manual everthing. There is something very alluring about cruising along, windows down, radio off and just enjoying the scenery.

I have to admit, that dude has a serious set on him for even trying to wrangle an emu. Those things can eviscerate a man if they place a kick properly. I'm thinking me at a safe distance with a Remington 780 and a rifled slug would have been more appropriate. Sporting? No... Covering my ass? absolutely.

@High Speed Indeed: As long as you are not threatening anyone (including an officer) you can say whatever you want. Would I advise it? No ...But you can say it all day long if you want..just remember any officer worth his/her salt will document exactly what is said to them

@FromaBuick6: That isn't Antartic Blue ...its Metallic Pea
