Close, but no.
Close, but no.
1. Alfa Romeo 164. I was going to say 993 Porsche, but that’d be too easy.
Works for me on Firefox. Are you using an ad blocker? Kinja is all sorts of borked if I use uBlock Origin with it.
Driving a 4WD truck with 4WD engaged on dry, paved roads is also asking for damage. Unless it was recovered from off-road or from snow-covered roads, there’s no reason to suspect 4WD was engaged.
We do know at least one thing - that 2021 will have 18" wheels vs. the 13" ones we’re familiar with. That makes as big of a visual difference as anything, and it’s worth mentioning in this context.
Movie cars do this all the time too, and it’s just as as annoying as when they make every dirt bike sound like a two-stroke, every sportbike sound like it has four cylinders, and interior shots of cars “driving” down the road with their column shifters in Park.
The first race car designed and raced by Chaparral was retroactively named Chaparral 1. The second design was named 2A, it evolved into the 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G, 2H, 2J, and 2K.
And unlike my newly-rusted rocker panel or my broken speedometer (I forgot about that - it only fails when it’s cold out), a burned-out DRL won’t merely fail an inspection here in Canada. It can get you pulled over by the cops. They’ve been mandatory on all cars sold new here since December ‘89.
I must’ve angered the GMT800 gods, because their other famous fault has just reared its ugly head again.
I was thinking these looked really familiar, like I had seen one somewhere in person (but I’m in B.C.). Turns out, my local Chevy dealer is doing the same thing, almost to a tee.
Just came across this article today. As soon as I saw a facelifted gold Sierra, I knew it was shop-teacher’s.
If you’ve ever wondered why GTA V has a van named “Youga” with Watanabe-style wheels and available carbon fibre hood, racing seats, roll cage, external oil cooler, racing tow hook, & titanium exhaust tip, know you know.
Like so many Netflix “Originals”, CICGC wasn’t originally on Netflix. It’s been around since 2012 shown on Crackle and on its own site, but Netflix just picked it up in January. This coming season will be the first under Netflix.
Would have been even cooler on some 919s tho
That said, Ricciardo himself is of course an English speaker, and he pronounces his own name “Rick-ar-do”. That’s not to say one pronunciation or the other is correct, just that the way the BBC and Sky presenters pronounce it is acceptable.
FYI, this wasn’t revolutionary in 2002. GM and Ford have offered similar options to this since the ‘60s. It was usually only in stuff like Caddys and Lincolns, but it has tricked down to plenty of plain-jane stuff. Even my work-spec ‘04 Sierra has it, and it has manual windows and rubber floors.
P.S. I’ve always recognized Willis Huntley’s voice actor as being fellow Canadian Alain Goulem. He has definitely done narration of Canadian TV shows & commercials.
Thanks for the reply, Stephen!
I agree that the voice sounds very familiar, but I can’t place it and I don’t think it sounds like Michael Ironside. To me, he sounds closer to Keith Szarabajka, but I know it’s someone different.
