I really don't give two shits about what car journalists think about a car

Awesome stuff, Raph.

I know I will be.

End of January 2015, actually.

It's just like what Ford offered in'77.

I never thought of them as "big DSMs" until now, but yeah.

1995-1996 Chrysler Sebring. The entire "grille" between the headlights is totally solid.

Wait another ten years, or move to Canada. I was literally just now shopping for 1999 & 2000 Honda Vamos on Goo-Net. There's lots. Turbos starting at $2800. Many have even already been customized, though I only found one Chebby.

Plus at least $2000 USD for the base vehicle, which can't be imported to the U.S.

The lack of detail and color might be throwing you off a bit. It is indeed the same bowtie shape, but it doesn't look as similar to today's logo as you might think at first glance.

Who knew Rota had such a rich history?

I've seen a couple of split-window VW lookalikes here in Western Canada, land of the 15-year import rule. However, as much as I like VWs, I think the American iron clones are even cooler. Bonus points for period-correct paintjobs. I think the formatting is going to be pretty Kinja'd, but here we go.

Nice one.

Now playing

Nah, just the '90s "hip" way of spelling it. I remember when they were played on the radio here in Canadaland. They were even "big" enough for a national beer commercial.

Huh?
