Velour wasn't exactly restricted to luxury cars, though. I had a '79 VW Rabbit with a 4-speed manual, no A/C, no radio, (and only a hole for a single speaker), an no intermittent wipers. Yet, it had the optional velour seating surfaces (with vinyl sides & backs).

I have those as well, and they do sound very good for the price. One of the biggest selling points for me is both a headphone jack on the speaker, as well as an auxiliary input. I'll occasionally plug in my iPod via the aux jack when I'm full-screen gaming and iTunes isn't so handy.

Yep, a variation of the 5.0L (302 c.i.) V8 from the Fox body (and early SN95) Mustang was on option from '96 to '01. The only way to spot them is by a tiny emblem on the fenders & tailgate.
