Simon Pegg, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin are pretty but talentless? Even the pretty Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are very good actors. Casting is one thing that hasn't been at fault with these films.

Maybe the second movie will spitball how to eliminate plot holes the size Kaiju can waltz through. I think this is the only movie in recent history that gets a pass on acting, casting, and narrative - all because, "fucking robots, man."
I love this one. There's damned little classic sci-fi in this list (I am as guilty as any), and the irony is that most of these "big moments" are either copies of classic sci-fi literature, or just unconsciously aping it.
The Moment: George Kirk becomes a hero

After what happened to Last Resort, I don't have a whole lot of faith in Navy shows.
Great topic, Meredith (as evidenced by the amount of comments). I think most people posted the films that came to mind, but not sure if these were. Its a bit weird, I think, to say I wish these made more money at the box office, considering they were both released to literally dozens of theaters. So, maybe I'd alter…
The greatest military sci-fi movie ever and there was so much more sequels could have done!
Whip It. To this day, it's the only sports movie I have ever enjoyed.
Great film that was supposed to be multiple films based on the book series. Poor box office ended that.
