Simon Pegg, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin are pretty but talentless? Even the pretty Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are very good actors. Casting is one thing that hasn't been at fault with these films.

Maybe the second movie will spitball how to eliminate plot holes the size Kaiju can waltz through. I think this is the only movie in recent history that gets a pass on acting, casting, and narrative - all because, "fucking robots, man."

I love this one. There's damned little classic sci-fi in this list (I am as guilty as any), and the irony is that most of these "big moments" are either copies of classic sci-fi literature, or just unconsciously aping it.
