I haven’t, exactly for that reason - it’s “cut” a movie if you don’t actually edit your stuff. Also because while I have an academic interest in seeing his version of JL, 4 hours of everything I hated in BvS is a hard sell.

Netflix insisted that shorter films do better on their service, which is why it got split in two. The initial release is apparently a pair of ~2 hour films and the really self-indulgent version will be ~5 hours.

Good lord, how long is this thing going to be? It’s aready two part, and I’m guessing that if they split it, it’s because it’s too long in one sitting, so each part must be about 2h30, so 5 hours in total, plus an extra hour?

Seems like he’s a television director who is only willing to do films. This stuff just works better as a 6 episode series.

Okay... but it is Netflix.  Why does he need to release a shorter cut of his movie?  Generally you slash things out either to cut for time (so as to get more showings and therefore more money) or to get a specific rating.  Neither of those matter at all to Netflix

Unless it releases around the same time, isn’t knowing that a longer cut is coming going to hurt the box office of the shorter version? I’m not one to see a movie multiple times in short order (I love Star Wars and have maybe watched it four times in total because I don’t need to watch it every week). Knowing that…

The nondairy line from Haagen-Dazs is my all-time favorite, and truly better than dairy ice cream; instead of alternative milks, they just use chocolate or coconut (depending on the flavor) as a base. It’s extremely rich and dense, more like gelato than ice cream.
