In my experience a good number of folks in healthcare fit the profile the study authors described. Probably has something to do with the primary factor that motivates people to work hard and be high achievers. Helping others versus money/power and whatnot.

My office has a pretty high portion of Ph.Ds, and the neurotic types seem to have the shortest tenures. I would consider myself the agreeable sort, and I think one of the big advantages you get from people like me is working collaboratively. I’m ambitious, but I know how to restrain my more competitive traits.
