Was chopping it up with a fellow East Coast transplant in the Bay reminiscing about all the things that made living in the NY/NJ/Conn tri-state area so great and we started talking about how badly we missed eating Whiting sandwiches from this fish market in East Orange when this colonizer misheard us and told us about

Basically.  Also explains a nice new home next to a shotgun home, next to a church next to a bar next to a liquor store....

Yea the lack of zoning is why you had that explosion at a commercial building happen in a damn neighborhood.

This person gets it.

Um, what? You’re wrong.  There was a lot of half-hearted voting for both candidates last election. Believe it or not, but there are enough undecided independent voters who switch back and forth between Dem and GOP candidates each election. Enough to easily swing a close election to one candidate or the other.

Sorry, I should have caught that. Yesterday I tried to have an actual conversation with cdwag14. I think he broke my sarcasm radar with his angry snark masquerading as real grown folks talk..

The best fried fish sandwiches ever.

A couple reasons come to mind, maybe he didn’t want to buy and manage the property, or maybe the owner didn’t want to sell it. If the landlord wanted the property back, I’d lean towards the second reason.

Everything you said is correct. In this, I have learned much.

My nightmare scenario is that there’s no clear winner, and it goes to a contested convention, where no matter who gets picked, more than half the voters are pissed off about it. That’s about the worst-case scenario going into the general election against Trump, I think.

This is happening all over Houston.  The east side of downtown was a heavily Hispanic population where you could get great food for cheap. Now gentrification has happened and it’s being called EaDo or some dumb shit and all you see are new fancy restaurants and bars pushing out the older ones.  It’s sad to see the

Someone explained it to me as being an issue of electability. In general, black voters tend to prioritize that over individual issues or identity politics.

The problem is RBG probably won’t make it through another four years on the Supreme Court and the issue there isn’t the Hamberdler, it’s Mitch McConnell and if the Hamberdler wins, that’s another seat for McConnell to fill.

You’re leaving one thing out though, whenever Trump punks out it’s the GOP who controls him. I agree with what you’re saying about Bloomberg and I hope he doesn’t get the nomination, but if a literal piece of dog shit was on the ballot I’d vote for it over Trump.

I understand that Trump is the reason why some people are considering Michael Bloomberg. And if Bloomberg is the Democratic nominee, he definitely deserves a vote more than Trump.

“Health care for everyone cool and all”

You ask why some Black people are voting for Bloomberg, and while yes the response of fire with fire seems appropriate with Trump, this feels bigger than a revenge plot.

They’re both rich, old racists from NYC. As far as I’m concerned, the only difference is that one of them can speak in complete sentences

I don’t think he is “the guy” but he is the one with the money and let’s face it, because of that, he will be the guy. I don’t like it but give me another choice.
