I think it's quite safe for a season 4, and I never really expected more than 5. But still, the fact that it was/is raking in adrates like it has is probably unlikely to continue past this season. And while it still does quite well in DVR numbers, it's going to fall well short of the 3.7 it averaged L+7 in the demo

Gotta say. I am thoroughly bummed about the terrible ratings last night. This show had a hand in putting down Happy Endings and Go On and now it's getting tied in the demo by The Goldbergs? I get that it's Family Comedy vs. Decidedly Not Family Comedy, but still. And yeah, people DVR this show like few others, but

Fantastic, easy to miss moment for me: the smile Jess holds while walking offscreen after she tells Nick/Coach she's going to go study lawsuits.
Nick tipping Cece slayed me for some reason, too.

Didn't love him in his episode last season, but he's been fantastic in his scenes this year.

There is something about her going to blow the guy a kiss but then ultimately bailing that keeps making me laugh.

This show kind of lost me this season. Despite (or because of) an endless stream of guest stars I like, it's just missed me all year. (I noticed tonight that the music is really just…off. Could that subconsciously be a bigger issue than I know?) Anyway, after a nice run to end last year, I've been very

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I used to think of her as the 'weak link'. It wasn't fair, honestly, as I just couldn't get on board with her character in the very early going. (The Wedding episode a total exception, but I didn't see it until way later). Now it's hard to believe I ever thought that way. She does

Think pairing Coach with Nick was a solid choice, as Johnson just seems to 'work' well with every character. (Well, he hasn't really gotten the chance to 'work' with Cece, but I think that will be pretty great when it happens.) I think the writing may need a little time to figure Coach out, but Wayans' is good

To be fair, if it wasn't in the source material, there really wasn't much to be done about it.

I love me some Lizzy Caplan, and the character of Jess was indeed far too over the top at the time. That said, much of Julia's edge was undercut by the insecurity she was feeling concerning Nick a the time, and the rather childish games they were both playing. It was also surprising that, apart from punching a guy

I get where you're coming from. I thought the show showed great promise (really, it still does) but there's something that just doesn't click for me. I just never forget I'm watching a written sitcom. More to the point, I see the writing at every turn far more than I see any of the characters. And, humor being

I laughed hard and often at HE. But it was very in one ear, out the other. Nothing wrong with that, and I would watch it if it were still on. But I'm glad New Girl is the one left standing.

Kinda tough to reintroduce an old/new character, but after the intro, I thought things went quite well. Not sure I want Wayans to stick around too, too long, but I think he'll be great for the arc he's due for. Good to see Cece actually have a role in an episode for the first time in weeks. And even though I wasn't

Solid return to form after being fairly off last week. Hopefully the 'Schmidt's a heel' angle is officially over. And the Nick/Jess stuff has largely worked this season, but it's time to let it breathe a bit. While I think Schmidt's storyline had fractured the group dynamic as much or more than the Nick/Jess
