Agreed. Mind you I loved the buffet because I could really build some niche characters and know that they would be useful... but good god was there a lot of glut.

4e that wasnt the case a good portion of the time. 5e I agree but at times I find it too simplistic. 

Agreed. The only reasons you should be any class in a roleplaying game is because you like the class and/or it thematically fits what you are going for roleplay wise. Party comp does matter but noone should be pidgeonholed into a class.

My friend there is a difference between “mostly combat” and “a single encounter can take hours and even longer the higher leveled you are.” If you can’t see the difference than I really hope you aren’t a DM.

I can respect your opinion but I kinda disagree. I kinda like that as roleplaying games have advanced it has moved away from “I’m a fighter. That means you have to be the cleric, someone has to be a rogue, and then we are good!” to “play whatever you want and we will figure it out along the way!”

Agreed. People hate on it but I think it did a good job of allowing every class to bring something to the table and allowing for massive amounts of customization. 5e really hasn’t hit that level of customization and likely never will.

For control decks they include it for the matchup to extend/survive. Most other decks are doing it because otherwise Bomb Warrior will kill you eventually (they can deal atleast 30 damage to you by you drawing cards easy).
