If you read the kickstarter they already went to the publishers and were turned down because it was too much of a risk for them. I imagine that in the same conversation they would have offered a potential different plan for it if they were interested in doing so yet here we are....
This. Telepaths, psychics, invisible people, but most of all illusionists. I don't know why but in any game where it is a choice (ie COX, Guild Wars, favorite superheroes, etc.) it is always my favorite choice just for the idea in my head that I'm creating sheer chaos for my foe and then using it against them.
I think it would be cool if made the fierce deity mask an item or some combination of smash ball/item (ie any character who wears it undertakes their own fierce deity transformation).

Think the issue is that for PC games... it has been this way for the most part for over a decade. From far beyond the advent of steam many games for the PC have done the whole "one and done" thing.
